    Priming the C12

snowtrac nome, I agree with what you are saying. The problem is the pressure regulator will not allow fuel to pass until it has built up a lot of pressure. I tried to use the prime pump and I even backed out the regulator bolt to bypass it but the fuel is not flowing. It might be that the prime...

    Priming the C12

I searched the internet but it seems these engines are not exactly like the civilian models. The youtube videos show engines that I see look close but it is not the same as my engine.

    Priming the C12

I accidentally let some air into my fuel line and now the truck will not start. I think I found the priming pump but I do not know where the bleed screw is. Can anyone help me out with step by step instructions for priming the C12 with photos? Or if you have the MK23 repair manual I would love that!

Free air compressor with 7 Ton

While working on trucks, it is nice to have an air compressor for the air tools that we need. In fact, I could have used an air compressor when I had my flat tire out on I-15! I knew that the 7 Tons had an air compressor and that there was an outlet on the drivers side under the battery. My...

    Lock for the battery switch

So I wanted to lock my truck that would prevent it from disappearing one night. I know I could lock the steering column but I saw that the battery switch was also able to accept a lock. So I played around and found that most locks had a shackle that was too large to fit through the holes. I...

Yermo to SLC in a 7 ton MK23

Hi Efituned, Yes, I tried to keep it at 65. There are some steep grades south of St George Utah and going up them the truck maxed out at 55 but it was OK. Speaking of the speed, it seems like when you are driving it is going so slow. I don't know if it is the tall cab, or the big tires, or...

Yermo to SLC in a 7 ton MK23

And just to clarify, once the tire blew I drove about 300 feet - just enough to stop the truck. I guess the sidewalls on these tires are not very strong because it completely fell apart. The back side of the tire is fine.

Yermo to SLC in a 7 ton MK23

Hi Mike! I was going about 65 when it blew and I wish I had hooked up my dash cam so it would have been recorded. But we were running late and I wanted to get going so the dashcam was not hooked up. There was a TON of traffic! I guess everybody was leaving California and heading to Vegas. My...

Yermo to SLC in a 7 ton MK23

I did not buy a tire. I went home to get one. I had purchased 10 tires on a previous Gov Planet auction so I had some spares. I have sold some of them and I was charging $250 for an OK tire mounted on a 7 ton wheel. I know Boyce Equipment here in Utah sells new ones for $800. I need a tire for...

Yermo to SLC in a 7 ton MK23

I hope this story might help somebody or at least provide some entertainment. I was on PTO last Thursday and Friday (12/05/2019) so I could drive to California to pick up my Military truck. My son and I drove down to get it and we brought a bunch of tools, two new batteries, and one spare tire...

What have you done to your MTVR today?

I made it from Yermo to SLC. It was crazy! I got 5.7 MPG so not as good as Elijah95 but I think it is OK. We had a bunch of issues and so the last 23 hours we were up straight. BUT we did make it and the truck ran fine. My son, Jason, fixed the heater according to MAdams instructions and I AM...

What have you done to your MTVR today?

GREAT NEWS! My EUC finally cleared and so I am preparing to go and get my truck. It is by Barstow CA and I called the yard and they seemed nice. The yard is open from 7am till 3pm and they said come anytime. I asked if I could take some time to work on the truck and they said that was fine but I...

    MTVR TM's

Well, there maybe an issue with converting the DVD to something uploadable. The TM for the 7 ton are only in electronic format. If that is the case, I am volunteering to make copies of the DVD and mail it out to people.

Buying a MK23...Am I making the right decision?

WOW! Elijah95 lots of good into, thanks! I was going to ask about the MPG because I plan to drive mine from Barstow to Salt Lake City. So empty maybe the truck will get 6+ MPG. Not too bad in my opinion. I agree with you about the GA trucks VS the CA trucks. I would rather have a truck from a...

Buying a MK23...Am I making the right decision?

Elijah95, Why did you buy a truck from CA when you live in Georgia and they sell the MTVR there too? BTW, that is a great photo. Thanks! Jon

Buying a MK23...Am I making the right decision?

I do not have the truck yet. It asked what document I wanted when I paid for the truck. Then it added the cost into the price. So when I paid for the truck the SF97 cost was included. I see that some people have had their EUC clear in 20 to 30 days. I am right at that time so it could be any...

Buying a MK23...Am I making the right decision?

When I bought my MK23 at GP, they offered a bill of sale or SF97. The SF97 cost a little bit more. I called the Utah DMV a few times and talked to different people. They all basically said the same thing. If you register the truck as a personal vehicle, there will be no problems. Utah DMV...
