Rain is not a good thing in Texas!

I'm watching this on the news right now. We only got an inch or two here. We were getting kind of dry.

    CUCV Hydraulic hose orings

Your local auto parts store should have them. They are the same as the civilian trucks. Just ask for the power steering hose o-rings. Scott

    Transmission problems

My 1983 civvy diesel 1/2 ton only has 3 bolts on the torque converter. Scott

    New in Austin Texas

Welcome to the site. There are quite a few of us around here. The Lone Star chapter of the MVPA meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1900 hours at Camp Mabry. We'd love to have you attend. I saw my first bobbed deuce (in person) this weekend. I'd be interested in watching one being built...

    Blacksmoking a 6.2

These are decent motors, but not nearly as sturdy as the modern ones. Lotsa smoke =lotsa heat, and eventually lotsa walking. My opinion only, possibly worth only .01. Scott

    Identifying a m1009

That's the location on the civvy vehicles. You might do a Google search for "GM VIN" or something along those lines. The VIN will tell you year model, engine type and size, where it was assembled, etc.

    Identifying a m1009

Hello, and welcome to the site. If someone converted this from a CUCV, they did a very thorough job. Look at a picture of a CUCV. They had military bumpers with lifting shackles, a slave receptacle in the grill, the grill was different, and they usually had holes drilled in various place in the...

East to west coast mirror assembly ?

USASFF, I recommend a drill press. You might be able to use a hand drill and a good bit, if the hinge were clamped in a vise, but if you have access to a press I strongly encourage that. Scott

East to west coast mirror assembly ?

When I changed my mirrors, I had to take the right side door and hinges completely off the truck, and drill out the pins. No amount of pounding with a hammer would move them. Bandman, if you talking about the breacket that I think, you have to cut it off the truck. Please post pictures if...

different types of transmissions for m1028

Any of the Chevy trannies will work. GM used a universal bell housing pattern. TH 350 is not quite as strong, but it will hold up under all but the harshest conditions. Same for 700R4, plus you get an overdrive. The 465 4-speed is a good, cheap, usually available candidate, but you have to...

    New V-100

I forgot that it's April 1st. Yes, I've not only seen the V-100, I've ridden in it while Rory drove it. Amanda rode also. No joke!

    New V-100

OK, I have to confess that I have been a little skeptical about this alleged V-100. I have heard about (a lot) from Rory, but it always seems to be 3 months from completion. Now, I have known Rory for about 18 months, and last week he told me it was about 3 months away from being completed. I...

    M105A2 - Pintle Hitch Height

Pintle height is 36". When I pulled mine home, my pintle adapter was about 24" high. The trailer pulled great behind my Duramax. You won't even notice that it's behind you. Scott

    Hooks Texarkana question

m813rc, Pawnshop, and myself picked up (2) M105A3 trailers last fall. There are 2 or 3 different yards out there, and we never actually went on base. They met us at the gate, and led us to the yard where the trailers were. The people we dealt with seemed nice, but there was absolutely no help...

    First Annual TX MV Rally

Guys, it doesn't look like I will make it after all. Two weeks ago, I was literally doing nothing. Now, everybody's in a hurry, and I will have to work this weekend.:-? Good luck, and hopefully I can be at the next one. Scott
