    M1101 goes deer hunting

Good idea. Looks to be another good deer season. Those wheels definitely need painted.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Not around here they don’t. And I see you missed the point. At this point, all the “scientific evidence” you are clambering for wouldn’t matter. Complain for complainings sake

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Fram is sold at Walmart. That alone speaks volumes Personal preference To each his own.

What did you do to your trailer today.

Installed new rubber on my tan M101A2. Identical to the ones on my M1008A1 Cooper all-terrain Stock size Load Range E Trailer definitely rides smoother with the new rubber.

S-280 Shelter. How do I get Cellular/Radio Reception Inside?

Outside antenna is white, inside antenna is black. Did not paint anything. The pole is galvanized and no paint either. Would love to paint the shipping container and antenna pole OD. That would require at least 10 gallons........@ $70 a gallon for the good stuff. Can’t justify that expense.

New CUCV Owner! Has some issues, needs assistance .

Have you looked at all the information on SS related to the “Death Wobble”? Threads and videos? It’s not going away on it’s own and will continue to get worse. Regardless, you’ll need new parts. Might as well start stocking up now.

S-280 Shelter. How do I get Cellular/Radio Reception Inside?

I do but not for online posting. Basic install. Very easy and the 30’ pole I anchored to a shipping container. Doesn't matter on interior antenna placement as long as it’s inside. Great signal inside no matter where it’s placed. Worth every cent.

What did you do to your trailer today.

I use new trans oil, not used. Nice sunny and hot summer day for application. New wood soaks it up like a sponge. Old Chevy bed trailer we found on our property. It was upside down in a small ravine and trees growing through the rotted bed. Installed new flooring, wiring, lights, tires...

Chinook Mishap @ OK Vet's Day Parade Investigation - 11/2018

Unfortunately the Hook pilots will get disciplined because they know the effects of their rotorwash and should have known the crowd was too close. Rotorwash from a chinook is over 100 mph. Initiate a go-around and radio that crowd is too close. That simple. I used to fly that type (MH-47E)...

What did you do to your trailer today.

I use new Transmission fluid to treat my trailers wood. Last a very long time (years) before needing additional treatment. No it does not make wood slick. Plus the red tint makes it look great.

    M1000 Trailer

I knew you weren’t complaining and had factored in replacement parts cost. Needs fixed before it can work and earn money. Definitely a Killer trailer at a bargain price.

S-280 Shelter. How do I get Cellular/Radio Reception Inside?

Grounding rods attached to both shelter and new antenna pole. Better safe than sorry.

S-280 Shelter. How do I get Cellular/Radio Reception Inside?

System installed today. Before,.......not a hint of service. Now.......full four bars of signal. The 30’ pole with the antenna attached helped without a doubt. Well worth the $400 system cost!

    M1000 Trailer

For the amount of trailer and capability your getting, it’s still a bargain. Even with lottery money, I wouldn’t own one. Extremely cool trailer, but just too big for fun.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Most never do see the problem until there’s a problem. Fram Filters suck Go cheap......Get cheap. I'm not risking an engine worth thousands on a cheap filter. You get what you pay for. Good Luck.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

It’s been discussed on SS before. I have also have witnessed it when a friend didn’t take advice not to use a Fram filter on a Diesel engine. Bits of filter media clogged oil passages on a Duramax. Almost destroyed engine. Was shut down before seizing. He cut open filter and paper inside it...

A better pic would be great. Hard to tell how the new tires look covered in shadows.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Have you read all the horror stories about Fram oil filters failing and the paper getting sucked into the oil passages? They are notorious for that.

New CUCV Owner! Has some issues, needs assistance .

When you go in to buy parts, DO NOT say it’s for a surplus Military Vehicle. Say it’s for 1984 K30 Chevrolet Pickup. With a few exceptions, that’s all it is. The Army had Chevrolet keep all the CUCV trucks a 1984 design, regardless of the year it was made. You will save yourself and the...

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

They are great!! So much better than that orange light. Those bulbs are rated for at least 15,000 hours of use I believe. Should last a while.
