    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

Remove the bulb end support clips and move them over the appropriate distance. The backing place is fairly thin so the screws start easily. Just don’t use a long screw even though the space behind is clear of wires directly behind that location. That way you don’t have to worry about...

S-280 Shelter. How do I get Cellular/Radio Reception Inside?

System will get installed later this coming week. Snow/sleet is predicted for Monday and temps barely above freezing for a couple of days after that. No sense of doing the install in nasty weather.

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

Both type bulbs started just fine. About equal amount of time from ignition start to full light for each.

    Unicor NF2D Light Tower/Genset

No issues at all. They have been flawless. The MH bulbs were the ones designed for and originally installed in the unit. This is according to original Specs/documentation I’ve found online. I think I’ve posted a picture of it also. Not sure why the receiving units later changed over to...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Changed oil and filter. Mobil1 Delvac 10W40 Air and fuel filters were not due yet. Cold front coming so I did a detailed inspection all over and underneath truck. All looked good. I’m ready.

How many miles do you drive your CUCV per year?

It seems like, to me, I drive my M1008A1 a lot. In it everyday when I’m not flying. Ranch work, errands, occasionally driving to work, etc. But I’m only averaging just over 5300 miles per year. Have had truck just over 3 years now. Truck is great and wife and I take it for an occasional...

    Manual glow plug wiring

A dying starter will cause the cranking issue. Cranks, but not fast enough. Mine was dying a slow death and made me think battery’s, etc when she wouldn’t fire. Replaced starter and engine cranked faster than ever Just a thought..........

    Bumper Markings

Used to be to a certain extent, but that info is no longer available. Unless you find unit bumper markings, you may never know it’s recent history. Some guys were lucky and found maint. paperwork in their trucks after auction. To know the trucks entire history, you’ll need a time machine.

New 1008 - Glow Plug Resistors Disconnected

Do whatever works for you. Personal preference Your truck, Your rules. I personally like mine stock. That’s me. Recently bought a lot of NOS CUCV resistors so I can change them now as required or on a maintenance schedule. I don’t really care what someone else does to their truck(s). I...

$1.58 tubing finally fixed my doors. No more slamming.

PEX is all the same I believe, just different colors. I’ve had mine installed for over 8 months and hardly a mark on it. Have you adjusted your door post?

S-280 Shelter. How do I get Cellular/Radio Reception Inside?

I know the shelter is designed to keep signals out. Wanting to see what would work to bring signal in. I was also thinking about doing the two antennas setup as I mentioned earlier. It seems logical and is a lot less expensive than the commercial booster setups on the market. Think I will...

S-280 Shelter. How do I get Cellular/Radio Reception Inside?

As mentioned earlier, I know there are devices to bring service inside. What I don’t know is which ones truly work and which ones don’t. I know a few guys that have used them without much success. Maybe a member here has built their own system and would share how it was done. I thought...
