Yes if you can find a CAT dealer that will touch it. Some will and some won't. None of the ones in my area would return calls or didn't want to touch it because it's in an Army truck. Any heavy duty diesel shop should be able to scan it or you can buy a scan adapter and get the software and do...
It has a standard J1939 port next to the remote battery disconnect switch on the driver's left kick panel. Any heavy duty truck adapter that speaks J1939 can be used with CAT Electronic Technician software to interface with the engine and pull codes, etc.
24v - the wiring runs directly to the batteries and feeds 24v and ground bussbars. The fuse from the batteries is 80a, and the three fuses for the power feeds are 50a each (pulling from the 80a fuse). The fuses are sized to protect the wire and don't represent the load. The wires are pretty...
Exactly. And a 14 AWG with a 20a fuse supply will blow the supply fuse before the internal 30a.
It's a non issue in my opinion and I wouldn't bother moving it off the board.
It's only 10.4 amps.... call it 12 amps with efficiency losses. This should be no problem for the wiring already running to the 24v ignition relay under the PDP. Run it with 14 AWG wire and a 20 amp fuse.
These are HID but I would be willing to bet you could get LED replacement lamps for the housings and just remove the igniters. At this price - buy two sets and have spare parts. Literally all the bulbs in all 14 of the HID lenses are the same. If you buy an extra set you now have 14 spare bulbs...
I would be guessing if I said yes but it looks like that's probably correct - easy enough to disconnect one from the tank to measure..... I pulled them and took them to a local supplier and had them build the hoses with crimp couplers like the originals. I had them add about 4" for shrinkage on...
Build new hoses all the way to the tank. At least in the case of my A1R you have to pull the tool box to get at them and that means lowering the spare, etc. It's not as difficult as it looks though. On my C7 the short hose from the filters to the engine was wet right after I got the truck so I...
I get that shipping is expensive but you are talking about a $14k kit in 2016 $. That's probably $20k in todays $.
Shipping sucks but it doesn't suck $15k
These are AWESOME!!!

They will go fast so PM Third From Texas if you are interested. The price is absolutely amazing and the quality of these kits is absurd. Last price I can find from 2016 is $13,867 to Uncle Sam......
The...
It's essentially irrelevant unless it occurs at 3am (and even then...). If it's strong enough to affect vehicles then the roads will be absolutely clogged with dead vehicles and paranoid/desperate/hostile people. Getting an FMTV through that mess is absolutely not happening.
As I have said - if...
The transmission has an engine coolant heat exchanger and it's overall temp should closely track with the engine coolant temp. Could be a bit higher under some circumstances but generally speaking it's going to be coolant temp or lower.
It is obvious from his posts if you look at them (there's only 42) that he hasn't purchased any military vehicles recently and only drove/owned an M35 quite a few years ago that he bashed around in the woods but didn't (in my opinion) find the limits of (I have much experience in the M35 and...
The upper sway bar bushings are a BEAR to replace with new ones. Might not be an issue to bolt/unbolt it with the old bushings but new ones are an absolute MONSTER to get the bolts back in.
M1084 is the MTV cargo with MHE - that what you are referring to?
Being an MTV it doesn't suffer from the steep rear driveline angle, only the front. Which again - really not that significant of an issue if attention is paid to balancing and maintenance.
Get a C7 truck if reliability is your...
I have not noticed that, no. It takes a bit of time for the ducting and such to cool down if you switch from heat to cold. With the engine not running and the fan not blowing can you hear the actuators for the temperature, fresh/recirc, and vent/defrost-heat control knobs? You should be able to...
The later trucks used the intermediate MTV axle for the rear axle on the LMTV and eliminated much of the driveline angle problem. If the drivelines are serviced and balanced it's really not an issue. The u-joints are cheap - often about $40 to $60 in the surplus market - and can be considered a...
Well - the win with the factory unit is that the AC occurs before the heater core. So you first cool the air and drop it's dewpoint so the water falls out of it as condensation and is collected and allowed to drain from the unit. Then the SAME air is sent through the heater and heated so you...
Anyone on the fence on cab AC - DO IT!!
I figured it would be the case, but I can confirm absolutely that the AC makes the defrost about 1000% better. No more fogged windows! Imagine totally clear windows even in the wettest conditions. Fogged windows are a huge annoying problem on these...
