Don't know if this would affect the M38A1 but I was helping my grandfather with his 48 coupe it was doing the same thing. Problem ended up being low voltage to the coil. Started fine cold but when warm it didn't like to start. Just something else to check.
Nice MUTT. I also went topless and ROPSless when I got my mount for the 50. Also I feel your pain with a brushed on paint job, my mule was that way when I got it and I've also got a 68 mustang someone painted the interior metal with a brush. Is your radio operational?
Nice write up with pictures. I'm actually about to switch out my transmission and like the idea with the hoist and floor crane. I wasn't too sure about lowering it. Again thank you for the write up and pictures.
If you load the jeep nose first onto the trailer then you should be okay. That would help share the weight of the jeep onto your tow vehicle. Just watch how much your tow vehicle squats. Try and get a good balance where you can see the tow vehicle start to squat that way you know the weight...
I'm had mine on the Hwy at 55-60 but that was only on 20 mile trips. I wouldn't risk it for 300 miles. Also the dolly is a bad idea unless you want to remove the axles. I've actually lost a U-Joint in a rear axle going down the highway, if your in a tow vehicle you probably won't hear it...
That's pretty much what I was thinking. I've got a bunch of misc. stuff, some of which I don't know what it goes to, that I'm planning on bring with me.
I believe I've got:
2 Slave Cables complete
Random Air line and electrical connectors and cables
Some gladhands
And some more stuff to dig...
It is military chain but was never used. Most of it I still have in the orginial box. It was sold for surplus from a transportation unit that fat fingered a NSN when they were trying to order 3/8 for the 915s.
Would $50 work for a 10' piece with the hooks on both ends?
Well I've rinsed it through with diesel. I filled it up and turned the input shaft by hand then drained it. The more I thought about it I've decided to find a shop to take it apart and check it out. I've already got all the seals and gaskets but don't feel comfortable enough to disassemble...
Still get an apology message from the link that the page I'm trying to access is unavailable but I did Google BINCS and this link worked for me so if anyone else runs into the same issues (might be my old computer and high tech windows XP lol) might try this...
Buying a transmission from a member in New Jersey, Augusta area and wanting to see if anyone in the area heading south towards Tennessee. I can meet in Kentucky or any surrounding area but Jersey is a bit far. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you CARNAC for the information. I'm donating $50 to the Gene Vance Jr Foundation. Figured I'd throw some extra in for someone who doesn't have the funds. Gotta help each other out.
Also I tried the link to look up the Manufacturer numbers but it says unaccessible and appears you have...
