A2 is your voltage regulator board. CR2 on the voltage regulator is NOT what you are looking for.
I'm not familiar with the CR2 diode, but have you tried looking on the back side of A1 to see if it is soldered across 2 terminals on the back?
I also notice the relay is unscrewed from A1, have you...
It depends which pump you have but anything in the >5 psi. should be enough.
You don't need a lot of pressure, but that machine will not without at least some pressure from the pump.
I have used the Caswell plating epoxy tank sealer exclusively on a good 8-10 MEP tanks with 100% success.
I have plugged everything from pin holes to stuff you can stick a pencil through and have a good 8+ years of use on some of the tanks with no signs of failure!
Sounds like you only have a...
Also check the starter disconnect switch located just to the right of the oil filter.
If the contacts aren't closed the machine won't crank.
It's the small cover held on by a wing nut, just to the right of the oil filter.
This is the switch that disconnects the starter once the machine is...
Oh, I see... you bought new bushings to put in your existing rods.
I had purchased a new piston and a new rod. I had an 803 that probably got hydrolocked at some point and 1 of the rods was tweaked a little bit.
It ran fine but smoked at start up for 30 seconds. Just the little bend it had was...
Did it leak right away? or did it start leaking a few days / week after you installed it?
You should not have to use any silicone or anything on it.
If you purchased a cheap $5 Chloroprene well nut and not a Buna or Viton one, diesel fuel can destroy it in a matter of days.
If you got the good...
Strange.... I have bought both piston / pins and connecting rods from Mayi Diesel on the big auction site and didn't have to ream the rod bushing.
Everything went right together easily.
Where did you end up getting the rod from?
If by chance you end up having any kind of issue getting your rod...
Is the rack moving freely?
If the rack is stuck in the "OFF" position you will not get any fuel through the metering pumps.
If the pin that engages the rack is stuck on either one of the pumps, it will hold the rack in the off position.
If you have 1 pump out now, stick your finger down the hole...
The fuse holder should push in and turn to the right a little bit and lock in place.
The cap should have a couple little tabs sticking out of the sides that twist and lock into the body of the fuse holder.
It should not come out at all unless you push it in and turn it counterclockwise again.
I had looked several months ago and didn't find anything other than the cheap China tanks without that hole.
If your tank has holes in it you can fix it with Caswell Plating's tank epoxy.
I have fixed at least 8 tanks this way including 2 for the 016D's with holes big enough to stick a pencil...
Yes, that just recently happened within the last couple weeks. It's like they haven't advertised any auctions into 2022 yet.
Maybe they are taking a little shut-down!
Dunno....
I use spill proof jump pack batteries in my 831, the kids 4 wheelers and my son's LPW2 tractor conversion.
You can get a matched pair for about $75.
12V 18Ah. or a few bucks more for a 21Ah.
I wasn't having good luck with the small cheap motorcycle batteries that you buy dry from local stores...
Nice work Jim! It's good that you found that Onan manual, it looks to have more dimensional info than the generator TM has. The TM doesn't talk about the 7/32" dimension or machining the cup to gain adequate clearance.
Hopefully once the gasket arrives you will be back in business.
C.B , he has another issue here. The center pin we're talking about is the pin that goes into the center of the governor assembly and the camshaft.
Not only did he loose the roll pin in the timing cover, but it appears his governor assembly may be out of spec. with regards to the distance from...
Well as far as the pin relates to the operation of the governor, you might think it is working fine without the pin, but ask yourself, WHY would they put the pin there if it wasn't necessary?? It may seem like it still works correctly, but when the gear and cup are flying around at 900 RPM's...
Once running your machine shouldn't really smoke at all with the exception of when it is approaching , at or above full load.
Another reason for light black / gray smoke is excess carbon built up in the muffler.
The typical procedure is to load it up to 25%, run it for 1/2 hour, then step up the...
Wow, I think you got lucky! There have recently been several threads about people with catastrophic timing and oil pump gear failure, possibly caused by that pin falling out ( breaking the boss its pressed into ) and falling into the gears and destroying a whole bunch of stuff!
If the pin...
Yes, that is the older PSU pump which doesn't use a plunger guide. ( it uses a drive pin with no safety feature )
If you are getting a little fuel out of the pump you most likely have a working pump.
First try bleeding the lines up at the injectors, while cranking the motor.
If that doesn't at...
So I assume you aren't getting any smoke or anything correct?
Do you have the throttle cable pulled out to the normal run position as it was back when it was working?
Have you checked visually to see that the throttle linkage at the pump goes to the full UP position when you crank it and the...
