    Tranmission to Engine Supports

Easter Find loves chirping tires when I pull out of my driveway. It must be the combination of my heavy foot, the shift kit in the rebuilt tranny, and the locker in the rear.

    Replacement jack suggestions for M1009

Go back to those junk yards and start looking in the back of Ford vans- "late 80s and up". Those jacks are almost identical to the original M1009 jacks. They will fit in their intended space by the back spare tire with little modification. Try to look for commercially used Ford vans; good chance...

    Price Check on a M100

It's designed with a drain hole/holes in the bottom. There is a spring loaded drain plug that fits in it and I have seen nos replacement plugs sold in the past. Try www.midwestmilitary.com . They have parts for the M100s

Cold Start = FULL THROTTLE IDLE??? (New Injection Pump Just Installed)

I start mine this way; When starting a cold engine you turn the key to on, depress the fuel pedal fully then release to about half pedal. Wait for the glow plug light and then start it. If the high idle solenoid is working properly and the engine temp sensor is functioning, it will be set to...

Cold Start = FULL THROTTLE IDLE??? (New Injection Pump Just Installed)

You most likely have a bad cold advance solenoid. Unplug it and see if you still have revving issues. I had the same issue with mine and I replaced the solenoid and never looked back.

Finally After 13 years I have purchased my first M1009

Nice project, great looking ride. Your going to have fun restoring it as you see fit. Just take your time, run it for a while, throw it in a local parade and fix it as needed. Most of all enjoy your ride.

    Starter grinds flywheel when started???

Nice looking rig. You would think that the seller would have fixed what's wrong with it if he really wanted to sell it. I would be leary about the purchase and the seller at this point. Offer a grand less than asking price. That should give you some wiggle room to get it properly repaired. If...

M116A3 from Chambersburg - pull or load out?

They sell them every day zeb. If I wasn't retired I would loan you one. The light bulbs are 24 volt but they will still shine with 12 volt. Bring 4 chain links for the added length needed for the safety chains. When you heading out?

    Reving problem

Is your cold advance solenoid working properly. Mine had the "mind of its own" revving symptoms when "cold started" . Turned out to be a finicky solenoid.

Losing fuel prime many things done already, still won't run unless bled

Most likely you have a cracked injection line or two at the flare nut end from over manipulating, over tightening, or from good old vibration. They are known for cracking at the nut. I replaced all of mine on the 1009 when I got it several years ago. I had 4 cracked ones when I pulled it apart...
