Folks who do that work are getting harder and harder to find.
Radiator soldering requires skill rather than pressing a button on a controller.
In our town of over a million, there is one place in town that would tackle that job.
Owner of that place is 71 and when he is gone, I don't know...

Agreed!
Also agree with the comment from the second post in 2018 that the guy needs to be choked for treating that truck like that. Yeah, impressive to see but short of me being shot at - I wouldn't treat my truck like that.
Picture below is from 2018 @ the Clark County Fair

Yes sir. Back up one level from looking at this post by clicking on the "Alternative Fuels" link. At about 1330 today 8/14, 65 folks have looked at your post. At least one of those was me. I clicked on it because I was being nosy. I also don't have a multi-fuel to run it in...

Assuming that there wasn't a change between 1982 and 1983 - then 383 is the right green.
My 1983 is sun faded, but it is really close to the right 383 green color.

Looks like an overhead leak of some sort for who knows how many years...
Now you need a rain storm and see where the water is/was coming in. Or maybe a water hose and time. Could be that is only happens going down the road at 40 and the rain blows up and under the outside layer of the...

Everybody has an opinion, but wood is that it was built with. I would go back with marine grade plywood and paint it on both sides before you start attaching it to the truck bed. Is that steel that you are referring to "sheetmetal" (thin stuff, non structural)?
Might be worth posting up a...

Cheapest solution for "the jackstand won't fit" where you want to put it is blocks of wood (also called cribbing). I got a half a pickup truck of scraps from a guy up the road who has a small saw mill. He sells lots of Oak cut into 12"x2"x20 feet long for trailer decking. I handed him a $20...

Nice to know more of the story.
Have you listed any of them for sale in the CLASSIFIEDS section here?
It might be a heck of a deal - buying a HMMWV from a museum - and writing a check to a Non-Profit Organization.
Dropping Uncle Sugar out of the picture would make everyone except those who...

Yessir! And those pictures will be useful to the next owner for sure.
Always nice to know what was routed where - especially under a layer of foam.
I am looking forward to seeing the virtual windows!
That is going to add extra class to a nicely made steel box - secured from the criminal...

So... I understand the PITA part of doing repairs. When you consider that this truck is maybe twenty years old and was driven hard and put up wet by the previous owner - maybe it isn't as awful as it could be? You have spent a couple thousand bucks and maybe a hundred hours or so working on...

Wonder if you need to put some sort of screening behind the louvres lovers to keep out nesting bees? Maybe not. They might just get "blown away" when you go roaring down the highway... Just suggesting - asking?

Looks good - and having the tan piece in a green truck is no different than our local Reserve Units. I see tan rims on green trucks and other assorted cannibalized additions to front line trucks.
I can imagine painting it later, but don't let that tan make you feel bad. Happy MV'ing...

Does the BL-XX on the door denote Bureau of Land Management?
Glad to hear that you got her fired up! Lots of TLC and it will be good to go for many more years...
