Today I started unbolting the 2nd 6.5 TD Donor. The motor and parts are much cleaner then the 1st donor. I should have it out by tomorrow.
All I have left is 3 more transmission bolts, motor mounts and unbolt the down pipe and she is out!
In my search of knowledge I have come to the conclusion...
Found another 6.5 TD at the junkyard. Saved it from the crusher. The motor has 208k runs amazing and 4l80e trans. Was salvaged because of rear end went out.
The trucks body was pristine 3 days ago. The junkyard guys Fucxxx up the body with their forklift. Sad...
If anyone needs interior parts...
I have a friend that has a banks turbo set up without the turbo for $400. Everything I would need except the turbo.
I am thinking if I bought it from him could I put the 6.5 turbo on the Banks Exhaust Manifold? Would that be a better set up?
My Warn 24 v winch was $2800. If you have those kind of funds I would say get it. If not a 12 v could work with your 24 v system. Or you could convert to 12 volt all around. I would say hook it up to a battery and run it down the back and ground it to the frame in the back. Get those quick...
Keeping the M1009 Square body spirit alive... Or is it Frankinstine on steroids?
To those that don’t know... The 6.2 has and is a damn good motor! My pictures are proof!
You are all prob wondering what my ride looks like.. I guess I better show you! Yes I am bragging... Over the years she has done some amazing things and seen some awesome places!

So I figure since I am crazy enough to take the motor out again to fix the leaking studs I decided to find a turbo/donor and give her some boost!
I found a deal on Craigslist for $300! Had to drive only 3 1/2 hours to Idaho...
As soon as I got home with the 6.5 I was sooo excited that I...
After putting it back together and driving it for a few months it started to over heat. Some of the Arp studs inside and outside motor started to leak...

I found the source. The upgraded ARP Head Studs are leaking threw the threads. I did everything right. Cleaned the threads multiple times. Used the ARP thread sealer and torqued the nuts in sequence with Molly Lube to spec.
So I picked up a low mile 6.2 J code and replaced every single gasket on it and did a bunch of upgrades.
Since I put the motor in it has been eating Coolant very very slowly. No coolant on the ground. It is going into the oil. The oil is not creamy. It is a very dark dark green color when you...
Yes that is very helpful! The new pump is a DB2-4544. Isn’t that a 6.5 pump?
Old pump is a DB2-2829. I just replaced the leaking rubber O rings on the throttle.
No loss in the coolant levels.
