Short answer, yes. It can raise your egt to unsafe levels. You probably still have air trapped in the system from the filter changes. Let it idle for anow hour or so and drive it around for 20- 30 miles to see if it will straighten out. You do need to bypass the FDC anyway though for engine...
If it is blowing oil out the exhaust, I would suspect the turbo has blown an exhaust side oil seal. Usually over filling will cause oil to drip from the slobber tube. Are you sure it isn't coming from the slobber tube and blowing back onto the exhaust?
Man, I can't fathom what was causing you problems with the 1/4" line. I have everything except my fuel tank and air pack plumbed into one central 1/4" vent line running up the frame, and I've had no issues yet. Were you still getting pinion leaks, or hub leaks, or what?
That's funny. I was going to make the same offer. I replaced all my hoses except the lower radiator hose with blue silicone hose. Expensive, sure. Will it last longer? Absolutely.
That's interesting. On the 87' m35A2C that I got for my Dad, we turned up the main fuel a lot trying to get over the 5 pounds of boost we were getting ( C turbo), and we were only able to surpass that and get up to 14 psi by adjusting the smoke cam, at which point we turned the main fuel back...
It isn't just a one screw adjustment either. You should also adjust the smoke cam after you adjust main fuel. The smoke cam has more effect on the higher rpm boost.
Hose looks similar to me in shape, just not rotated right. Sometimes hoses aren't made quite right, you just have to force them to fit the way they are supposed to.
