I agree with Doghead. Mounting batteries in the passenger compartment of a vehicle is not a good idea if it's not done properly.
It can be done if the proper safety precautions are followed. Just a few of them are:
The batteries need to be secured in an explosion proof box.
The box needs to be...
I can help with the Pennsylvania laws. I have a few friends that know the Motor Vehicle Code inside and out. If they don't know it, they will know where to get the correct answers.
Inspection mechanics and Judges make good friends. They can (and have) tell me the specific titles and code...
I spent many hours (days) clearing runways in vehicles exactly like those pictured at Griffiss AFB.
They would go thru snow nearly 10 feet high. Not much would stop them.
I wish I had a roll over plow now to clear the roads to tower sites, sure would do better than my F-250.
We receive 14...
My Deuce was usually around 180 degrees. Recently I cleaned the cooling system with some radiator flush from NAPA. This removed a considerable amount of brownish fluid from the system. The coolant in the top of the radiator always looked its normal green color prior to flushing. I installed a...
Welcome. I live in State College and you are welcome to come down and check out the Deuce that I have.
I know a few other MV collectors in this area and we get together at the various Car/Vehicle shows. You are welcome to join our informal group.
PM me and we can arrange a time to meet.

I take mine to the local truck repair/ towing garage. Eagle Towing in Milesburg.
Needs inspected twice per year and no weight sticker is issued with Classic tags.
Unlike tractorpuller1, I do not use mine for business. I use mine for personal fun.
But he does have a good idea doing it that way...
Welcome to the site.
I hope to see you and your Deuce at the Lock Haven Car show this coming summer.
I took mine there last year and had a great time.

Southdave; No I have never jumped off a tower.
The picture is looking down from a 30 foot long FM broadcast antenna pylon (9 inch pole) mounted at the top of a 300 foot self supporting tower. I could not find the pictures from 556 ft up on a similar pylon.
Not a fun tower to work on by any...
I would spray some Tri-Flo lubricant (Teflon based) on the thread area and then get as big a screwdriver blade as possible that fits the slot. While trying to loosen the screw, tap the end of the screwdriver handle with a hammer to get a little bit of impact action. Continue to spray the threads...
Perhaps you should see a M35 up close and make a decision from there.
Where in PA are you?
If you are near me I may be able to help answer your questions.

I noticed a leak at the two lines going to the master cylinder. (Air Force Deuce)Every time I parked the truck, two small puddles of brake fluid were on the ground. I checked the master cylinder and yes it was low on fluid.
Further inspection underneath showed that the leaks were right at the...
When I applied for my Classic tags it was rejected as well. I had to fix the dent in my front bumper and send in new pictures. They didn't catch the dent in the air intake mushroom. Due to the weight class, it will also need to be inspected twice a year with Classic tags.
The decision on...
Welcome.
I was at Ramstein back in 1985. Nice place.
If you bring a C-5 full of German beer, we will send a welcome party to assist with the unloading. On second thought, you might want to bring two planes.
I bought 100 ft from McMaster Carr. It is not exactly the same as the super rope that came on my truck. It has a slightly different finish on it. The super rope has a glossy look to it and the McMaster Carr material is less glossy and stretches better.
I changed all the ropes on my Deuce...
There are several Deuces sitting along Route 6 in PA for sale. One is in Coudersport and the other ones are in the Port Allegeny and Smethport areas.
Go for a drive along Route 6 take a look and let us know how you made out. Don't forget to take a few pictures.
We all wish you luck on your mission.
