    Deuce trailer build thread

That's a pretty serious dovetailed section hanging off the back of that trailer. Almost looks like it would defeat the whole point of having driven trailer axles. Meaning that it seems like anywhere you'd need driven trailer axles, the ass-end of that trailer is likely to be dragging. No?

more questions & ideas related to fording kits

Yeah, that's been done different ways by a lot of different people and it's a great idea, and Stover and I were discussing that idea in my build-thread, but there's hardly enough room between the stock fan and the radiator to slip-in anything substantial enough to work. Also wouldn't do anything...

more questions & ideas related to fording kits

No, not yet. Just installed the new LDS engine and the cab is getting painted. Should be able to start putting it all back together in the next week or two.

    Deuce trailer build thread

Right on. Was talking to Jess about this a while ago and wondered if it was ever going to turn-up online.

    REPAIRED near Roosevelt Lake AZ

Glad to see you got it all back together, and I've got an extra fan. Well, it's not really an extra fan, but I've got a fan from my spare engine that I could ship to you?

Camper M109 - Spacial Transformations style

What was the story with the fan and radiator? Did the bearings go out and let the fan pull forward or something?

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

Thanks for the link. That looks like a nice setup, but would kinda like to do my own thing.

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

The Hydromax master/booster is installed and the new LDS engine with the hydraulic pump for the 5-ton trucks is in the chassis now too. Ordered a 2.5-ton Rockwell-specific double-ended steering cylinder and a steering valve from PSC this morning. Looking forward to receiving those parts so I...

Hydromax master/booster all painted and installed.

    2nd alternator, 12V

Just ordered a 12/24 dual alternator kit from Wolverine Technologies, with the optional 220 amp 12V alternator upgrade. Wasn't sure if I'd end up building my own mounts or buying something, but decided to spend my time working on other parts of this motorhome conversion. Tim also told me that...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

Should be pretty straightforward. Expect that the most complicated part of the whole swap is going to be all the electrical wiring to make the backup pump work. Other than that, adapting the Hydromax master/booster to a deuce is as simple as drilling four holes and making/buying a custom pushrod...

    planning an LDS swap

Agreed. Planning on doing something similar. Just had to figure out what area needed to be removed first. Nice job on that, by the way.

    planning an LDS swap

Thanks for confirming that G. Spent a bit of time clearancing the radiator shroud, moving the radiator around to simulate the flexing that might occur as it move with the chassis/body. Will make a template and upload it for anyone else to use who might want to add a hydraulic pump to their...

    planning an LDS swap

Thanks. Yeah, know there are different outputs. Was thinking more about the external dimensions. Know it would have been helpful if I had access to some templates and mounting dimensions for things like this back before I had parts on-hand. Would have allowed me to do a lot of the work ahead of...

    Best Way To Preserve Rubber?

Just picked-up a few walking-foot sewing machines and am planning on making some wheel/tire covers for mah deuce. Seems like that's about the only thing that everyone agrees on (sunlight = bad).

    planning an LDS swap

Thanks. Was thinking that I could make a template of the area that I trimmed on the radiator shroud to upload and share if anybody might find that helpful. Are the hydraulic pumps all the same?

    planning an LDS swap

More pics here, showing how I clearanced the radiator shroud so that it doesn't hit the hydraulic pump, and a few other little details.

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

That's essentially what I'm doing, but giving it away. Working with Precision Rebuilders to put together a kit that will include a few custom-made parts, but am also sharing information so that anybody who wants to tackle this on their own will be able to.

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

The other point of interference was between the electric backup pump adapter and the framerail, so I rounded-off that corner. Then I separated the master cylinder from the brake booster, hosed it down with brake cleaner, and then sprayed it with a coat of rust-inhibiting primer. Headed down to...
