A lot of chemicals will break down the rubber over time.
It soaks in and while rubber appears to be clean and dry on the outside, it’s is not.
Slowly breaking down the rubber from within and leading eventually to failure.
This was a problem in helicopter transmission and other critical...
While rarely needed, I always buy the “E” rated tires. Except on wife’s car. Their not available.
Extra belts and plys are insurance to me.
Installing new set of Michelin’s on the conversion van this Tuesday.
They will be E rated.
They handle the heat and load so much better.
Gives me...
That trailer is a perfect match for that truck.
Keep the surge brakes maintained and you’ll hardly notice it’s back there.
Have you already checked bearings, seals, etc?
It’s not getting the trailer going. A Prius can do that.
It’s stopping and handling.
Chevy pickup is larger and heavier than an Xterra.
Better able to handle trailer weight, but stopping still an issue with no trailer brakes.
Using something as small and light as an Xterra is just begging...

Have 3 brand new spares.
New card does not change wait time.
I have installed new acdelco GP temp sensor.
Recently installed new trombetta GP solenoid.
Recent set of ACDELCO AC60G’s glow plugs.
All stock system

I’m thinking about putting a set on my M1008A1.
It doesn’t see the speed and long trips that my vehicles with Michelin’s do.
Post a pic when you get them mounted.
17 seconds seems like a very long wait light time.
When really cold outside, mine is on for about 10 seconds.
Starts right up.
Warmer it is, the shorter the wait time.
-6* was coldest start to date and wait light wasn’t on for more than 10 seconds.
Again, cranked right up.
Still...
Rolling over something is completely different that hitting something with a sidewall.
I have had the BFGs A/T and was a great tire.
Been running Michelin’s now for years.
Never an issue
Hit a piece of steel on sidewall (driving slower than walking pace) that I could have rolled over...
