A2 fuel cut solenoid has 2 coils within it, pull and hold, hence the 3 wire connector on it. The MW pump fuel cut lever driven by this solenoid is either in the run or stop position. It really can't cause rough running from hanging in the middle.

Your battery situation should not affect the way the engine runs. It sounds like your losing the prime in the fuel line, and it is worse the longer it sits. When these trucks have air in the fuel system, that is exactly how they run.

VGT turbos make a good attempt at giving the best of both worlds.
Coolant eats bearings quickly, like pouring acid on them. You may also be onto something with altutude if the PT pump does not reference atmospheric pressure. Pretty old technology, so I doubt it does?

Not much update. Acquired the mil 8.3L oil pan, pad mount brushless 105 amp alternator and high capacity pad mount A/C compressor for the ISL. New oil pan heater element also (M22 x 1.5 thread), NAPA p/n KAT 30910 (fits 8.3L if anybody wants one)...
His engine does seem to run well. I would trust his judgement on NHC 250 PT pump work and fueling mods for sure, considering how many miles he has put on his vs the performance I saw his truck have. I was impressed with how well it took off with stuff in the bed and a big heavy trailer in tow...

The 8.3L oils its pump through a small hole in the back side of the timing cover, through the pump flange mating surface. Once it fills up to the pump shaft, it overflows out the front of the shaft bearing and back into the timing case.

You could just use a resistor to drop the voltage to the clutch, but I use a high volume compressor anyway, capable of 33,000-40,000BTU of cooling, so it was getting changed regardless.
