Yeah I got one of the original wooden bow & staves with canvas cover and end curtains. Got it off eBay for a great price. Crate it came in still had the packing list from 1971! Oh that stench of oiled canvas when I popped it open! With El Niño coming I need to get that wood indoors!
Anyone ever made their own out of some thin steel tube or channel? My local steel supplier will bend anything I order from them for $10 each bend. It probably wouldn't be the exact size to perfectly fit a corner but you might find something close and it would last forever as long as you painted...

They are the original vacuum ones. That blade should have been replaced when I did the glass. The metal part was a little rusted and sort of loose. I agree with you it is a pretty cheesy design.
It isn't bad, barely etched and barely noticeable. I shut the valve before it made 2 complete strokes. Jewelers rouge is supposed to take it off. I heard cam polish works too. We'll see.
Speaking of wipers, it actually rained in CA enough to turn mine on today, and one of the darn blades flew off at about 55 mph and slightly scratched my new windshield. Guess I'll need to add that to the never ending list...
Big Mikes has those clips. Or that one auction site. I just replaced all of mine with the glass too. It's great to have nice new clear glass without years of grime and overspray all over it.
