Thanx for the pics pacewagon.
Quite a stash of gear.
If you find time to post up the TM#s it would be greatly appreciated.
I am hoping I find a TM# specific to the 811 bat wing, up until now I have only come across the generic M809/5t manuals.
Two other things I have wondered about and aren't...
Very nice rig,
Did you get any manuals with it.
I have a 811 that I got from Rural FD/GSA that I would like to find more of the kit/accessories for.
If you have or can take more interior pictures it would be most appreciated.
As someone who makes UHV vacuum seals every day on physics experiments, the key is clean.
Of course we use knife edge metal seals and can have no oils anywhere near our vacuum components. Anyway....
I made sure to clean all surfaces and used spray silcone lubricant from a can, not Silicone...
Manual says it draws fuel off of the main tank.
You have must have something special/modified.
Do you have picture of the tank iunder the hood.
Cause.......except for Bjorn's post
nopics
wbdodgeiv,
Thanx for the info - I will have to kick myself as I use McMaster yellow catalogs for everything at work, but because it didn't pop up in my searches I didn't even think to use them. I will also chew on the inch tubing idea.
I will search to see if you did a write up on your bed...
You can always Google search and be sure to add steel soldiers into the search field.
Google is proof that steel soldiers is the definitive MV site.
Most of the time the 1st or 2nd search result from my MV Google searches show up with a Steel Soldiers in the address.
Strange part is when...
Hinges- Making a drop side out of a deuce bed
Howdy,
So for my bob project I wanted a configurable bed so that it is multi-purpose. So I took my donor deuce's bed and cut the sides and front off of it.
At first I was going to try to keep the front and re-used the sides by welding angle onto...
ditto on the air down.
then on the wheels stuck in the mud, chain/ratchet strap some chunks of 4x4 on the tread, tied thru the spokes of the tires.
Other option is landing mat strips, or expanded metal, but both will require digging.
Maybe some 1 foot wide 3/4" plywood strips with 4x4 cleats...
6'8" 280.
I did an 11" stretch on a 5 ton cab for a bob, used hemtt seats.
Those were a help, but not worth the money and labor.
Instead the best was a smaller steering wheel,.
cut the splined center out of the deuce and 5 ton wheels, pressed it into a piece of thick wall tubing, welded the...
Congrats and welcome bbftx.
I am quite jealous of your Sow.
I have been after one for 5 years now.
Never popping up at the right time.
There always seems to be a 5 ton or DUKW rolling past that I want and I wind up spending the Sugga fund money I have saved.
I will definitely look you up when...
Brad in Yelm had at least one parts one if you wanna do some chatting.
I was thinking about it for the power train for my DUKW until I picked up a 350 and an700R4.
Stalwart
I know how you can drive slow and save fuel....:cookoo:
:driver:Flat tow my 5 ton flat towing Scotts deuce flat towing some thing else and so on.
when we make it to where you can only do 40mph, we will stop adding vehicles.
Then collect the gas money form all the riggs you are...
That list member was Mike Pop.
My similiar plan is to try a deuce bed cut into a flatbed, then place the radio box on that.
Common for mog folks to sink four 6"x 6" poles in the ground and make a lifting rig.
That way you can have both the flat bed and the camper.
Mine will hopefully be with a...
Anybody run 12 tires (duals on the steering axel) on the sand for better front end floating.
I have seen pix of it on the dirt, but was wondering about it for on the snow.
