Yeah, but even though it is sad that the 4/5 jump is pretty crummy - having a clutch peddle alone is pretty wonderful.
Promoted to the Lowest Level Of Incompetence - or - Incapable of Driving a Stick. Not sure which is worse and did the incompetence have something to do with why everything...

Just because... Why don't you use a multi-meter and measure all four batteries? No need to disconnect anything. Just meter plus and minus on each battery. Possibly record those measurements here if you would.
These trucks are notoriously "over batteried" and under charged. Strange things...

Chucky,
Nice pictures and adding that handrail is a nice safety upgrade to the brothel.
Don't want to have one of those sweeties fall off the steps heading up to the stripper pole.

Welcome to the Outfit! Congratulations on your New-To-You truck as well. I gotta say that finding that seat bottom in the truck is a really incredible piece of history. @Csm Davis down in Hattiesburg might have even known Gentry and could share a little more about that truck with us...
So...

Their propaganda reads really well... Good for gas tanks and diesel fuel tanks according to the reading. It even mentions sealing pinholes and that it works on rubber membranes too. I personally have no experience with it to talk about.
I've used Ospho because it was what I could find...

I dunno... It almost seems like replacing all is the way to go when you are that deep into the engine. You know, new bearings everywhere, new sleeves, full set of pistons. Then again too - that is how it is supposed to be done - at a reasonable cost.
Replace just the cracked parts maybe...

Hi Rolf.
The vanes in the pump are like a knife blade. Sharp on one side at an angle and that angle is about the thickness of the vane. Spring definitely looked good and the fluid appeared clean with no chunks of rubber from a failing hose. There is no spring behind the vanes. centrifugal...

Ignore the Clowns.
The FaceCrook clowns in particular...
The 700r4 is a pretty tough unit behind a hotrod small block Chevy.
I can't see how being in a 4x4 is going to suddenly make it junk.
Of course there are idiots who could break steel marbles with a rubber mallet in a sand box too.

These gauges are notoriously bad. More used to see what if it shows as normal today, then see it again in the same place tomorrow. AND if it suddenly is different one day - that might be a problem. A new gauge or sending unit or a cleaned up ground might make everything better.
Sounds...

With the batteries disconnected it might be worth a very light film of anti oxidation paste on the connectors - and then plug them in and out a dozen times or so might help if there is any corrosion in there. Just working to make an okay connection into a good connection.
Might be better...

One of the guys here has a Suzuki that we looked at today in the parking lot. It isn's a HMMWV by any stretch of the imagination, but it has a gosh awful belt squeal. Went out with a can of belt dressing. Opened the hood expecting to see a series of V-Belts. Nope, serpentine and so it got...

I have to agree that it looks pretty crummy inside. I have seen worse though. It looks to me that you have done a pretty good job of cleaning it up and out. Since you have cut holes in the tank for inspection - finishing the job with a tank liner paint should make it last for as long as you...

If you want parts or testing of your existing controller, @Suprman is a good point of contact. I have bought several things from him over the years - and he has been helpful and reasonably priced...

Amazing how the phones today are almost like having an extra hand... GOOD PLAN using it in video mode to watch what was happening under the truck. Heck, you might find yourself a new job as the Safety Man for some big company with that idea. Need to create an App for that! ;-)

Seems that there are several different MICO and MICRO Brake Locks still available these days with a quick Web Search. I didn't find the type that we used back in 1983. Those were a machined aluminum piece that weighed in about 3 pounds or so with a handle on the front to activate it. Flip...

Is it possible that all this surging coincided with a recent trip to the gas station? Maybe you got some bad fuel? As bad as it sounds, disconnecting the fuel supply from the IP, and turning over the motor to capture some fuel in a glass jar should show you something - maybe?
If one of the...

A good starter / alternator should be able to convert most anything - but could you give us more details?
It is a CUCV, HMMWV, Deuce?
What kind of vehicle or maybe what kind of power plant is under the hood or behind the covers if it's a GenSet?
