Welcome to the Outfit!
Driving it home makes it a really good truck for sure. Give her a little TLC with some fresh oil and filters. The LO (Lube Order) is posted as are the other TM's (Technical Manuals) are here for you to download.

Amazing how the weather takes all things with time... That is a nice looking set of steps. Funny. A lot of things that I do now are fixing things from 20 or 30 years ago. The only good part of that is that the next time it gets fixed, chances are it won't be me doing it.

It might be worth your time to disconnect the batteries, then clean the board that all the relays plug in to. Electrical contact cleaner, then a spot of Anti-Ox paste on every contact. An old toothbrush on the connectors after spraying the board. Also clean the contacts on the relays too...

Well congratulations and Welcome to the Outfit!
If you didn't already have them for your earlier New-To-You trucks, Technical Manuals (TM's) are here and lots of folks who like to share information too. Since you already have a small motor pool, grab up your phone and post us a few pictures...

Happily no leaks from me.
Yes sir. Bed with internal tie-downs between the tool pockets. The canvas and bows are in the long left pocket. The bed is also removable to be used for some other function that wasn't ever developed...

Well start collecting your bottle caps, go trade them in for cash and do a deal.
When you have the JLTV, let me know. I have 1 of 5 prototype trailers for them you can buy :)

@Guyfang Don't know that any "truer" words have ever been said. You really can't make it more broke! I learned how to rebuild my first motor with a core that I carried out of the woods - one piece at the time. 1956 Chevrolet 265 cubic inches. It was old and tired, but with a ratchet and...

I would like to also offer up a nice Welcome to the Outfit!
Don't hesitate to download the Technical Manuals (TM's) for your New-To-You HMMWV. Tons of good information and troubleshooting flow-charts are in those books. Using Acrobat and CTRL+F (search) will help you find things once you...

Thinking about it, I seem to remember too some sort of "offset" on the M37 to fix that loosing space inside too... Hmm
Yes Indeed, I was thinking that you could do the exact same thing on your Deuce. The only real consideration is the 13'6" maximum road height. Might not need to be that...
.
That definitely has the look of being "home made". Not necessarily a bad thing. It sure couldn't leak any more than any other cover.
In days gone by, the company that I worked for had a small fleet of M37's for transporting workers to the jobsite. They needed covers and canvas just wasn't...
.
Not sure that I can help with that. I generally replace whatever is on my truck with the same size it had. Of course that is assuming that what is there is correct... If it is painted green it could be a good indicator that it was "factory" sized.

JIC fittings are the common hydraulic hose fittings.
PirTek Hydraulic Hose Services is an option.
They are locally owned franchises and they will come to your location if you want hoses made and installed.

.
Hopefully you can find a gasket kit and some bearings locally? Or who knows, when you crack it open it might look like brand new inside.
Happy Wrench Turning!

Hi Floydla1
Hate to admit that I have no clue how to help you - but there is a lot more traffic on the Generator Forum and folks who will be able to offer up some suggestions. I made a request to have this post moved. Hopefully that will help.

Welcome to the Outfit!
Nice Truck! I think you will get some real enjoyment out of it.
Eight days.
Time will fly as you do projects for and with that truck. In no time at all, you will have been with it for years. Shoot a few more picture of the inside of the cab and engine bay. You...
