    Transmission Choice M1009

if your stock th400 transmission was nearing it's end of life, what would you do? It would be turning a stock 6.2 and the only departure from stock is a set of 33's. Would you take it to get rebuilt or swap it out with some other compatible transmission? What would be the cost difference...

Source for black ignition + Door cylinders

Got mine at Autozone. Wis they were keyed alike, but as cheap as they were, I'll suffer with using two keys.

Fix For My Leaky 1009 Fiberglass Cap Antenna Holes

That works too! However, if you want to remove and reuse these plugs all you do is tap them out and start again. Totally reusable.

Fix For My Leaky 1009 Fiberglass Cap Antenna Holes

Don't know if anyone else was having this issue or needed a fix, but I'll post mine just in case. OK, I kept getting more and more water in my 09 every time it rained. This last deluge left me with quite the puddle on the floor in front of the rear seats. With the cold weather here it was...

I haven't had any problems with min yet, but I am in and out of the back of my 1009 a lot. I'd be willing to give your fix a shot. Is it a simple install?

Poll - Who has done the Doghead Relay Conversion

Did mine yesterday. First time I had a bad relay (right out of the box and my attempt at the MOD failed. I took the relay back to NAPA, got another one and installed it. Worked like a charm. And yes, you can hear that relay click over every time. A simple, well written MOD anyone can...

    Doghead Mod Failure

OK, finally got around to installing a new relay today. The holidays put me behind. Well, the new relay worked, as it should have. The cause WAS a bad relay from NAPA and it was replaced free of charge. The MOD works great. The only difference is that I can actually hear the relay actuate...

    Voltmeter Question

Sound advice and I will check that out. However, it is consistent every time I turn on the lights. Maybe it is heat related and when she heats up (the wires) it loosens the connection.

    Voltmeter Question

Just the voltmeter. It goes out shortly after I turn the lights on. Almost like it was on a timer. The gauge still functions, just no light.

    Voltmeter Question

My voltmeter works fine, I assume. However, when I have my lights on, after driving about 1/2 mile or so (or about 2-3 minutes), the lighting in the gage goes out and I can't see it in the dark. Is this normal ? All other lighting (except my reverse lights) work as they should. Thanks.

    Pic of my m1009!

The rack looks good. I think a minimum of 500 lbs is what to shoot for. 700 lbs would be very versatile and, IMHO, a better selling point. I also like the idea of a ladder. What do you think they will retail for? Any other bits and pieces being developed for the M1009? Thanks.
