Just thought I would wake this one up. WREX, I know you mentioned a move, so hope all went well. Any luck with kicking a few of these sets out the door for us fellow 1009 owners?
Roger, roger. I was in the -20 and after following the advice above, I did find it in the -34 (Kinda hidden, isn't it?).:cookoo:
I'll check with AutoZone tomorrow and get this puppy off. Update to follow.
Thanks All !![thumbzup][thumbzup]
Also, the plate doesn't rotate. If you look carefully, it looks like the locking pin is poking through one of the "scallops" on the plates edge. Is the plate keyed to the steering wheel shaft?
Those sliders look good. I have been looking for a pair in that condition for a while, but no joy. I bet they make a world of difference for ventilation in a non AC truck !![thumbzup]
I am going to post a "How To", step by step, with pictures and tool requirements, for this procedure, for us more mechanically challenged amongst us (including me). I didn't see anything like this when I did a search, so forgive me if it has already been done. It looks to be a relitively easy...
It should have been about 22.5 or better, but I picked up the pace a bit in Conn and when I started keeping pace at 70+ mph and hitting those hills, my mileage suffered.

Thanks for the tip!! I will try the spare key I have, as well as a new one when I get back into the states on the 19th. Anyone in the NLON, CT area that has a key I could try??
WOW ! Great info, thank you !!
I want a back up to my cell phone and an alternate means of communication and the mil radios look great, but are expensive and you can't really use them (well you can, if you like living dangerously).
I also want to utilize the milspec antenna, as I have two...
Yeah, I thought it might be the steering wheel lock, but it wasn't. It took about 40 minutes, but I finally got the ignition lock and key to turn and fire the truck up. However, when I turned it off and tried to rotate the key again I ran into the same thing. It's bumming me out. I hope the...
Decent ride, no hiccups and got very good mileage, which actually surprised me. Except for a lack of AC, it wasn't a bad ride. Some better seats and a stereo and I would be a very happy camper!!:p
I drove 65-70 the whole way and averaged 20.2 mpg. Truck is all stock, with no major...
