Hey all,
I was working on tearing down a spare injection pump I bought to rebuild (or at least, reseal) in order to make the replacement at-HMMWV go as quickly as possible. I've gone well along using the 6.5 Engine TM; however, I've finally gotten stuck at removing the head assembly from the...
So I was mulling over one of these, but had a few questions...
Regarding the PM storage increase, just what is the new storage size for premium members? I'm getting real tired of deleting PMs, especially when their size is incredibly insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
Next, I know...
Hey guys, I had a member point out to me they I made a statement in error. SINCGARS antennas only cover 30-88MHz, not 144MHz needed for 2M radio usage. Use of a common military antenna would require some modification. There do exist some broadband antennas that will function on 144MHz, but...
...or you can contact GP support to point out the error. They try to do things right if you let them know something is wrong. Worst case, PHasty is on here from GP and takes matters pretty seriously.

For your 2M radio, most of the SINCGARS radio antennas will work. They're covering the same VHF radio spectrum.
For the CB, you would have to use one of the HF radio antennas, which tend to be stupidly expensive for what they are.

That's exactly what I was thinking. LED lights usually incorporate protection circuits since they're more sensitive to voltage spikes and damage from overheating. You probably have an issue with the regulator on your alternator, since it initially seems that a rapid increase in engine speed...
Just came across this... https://www.engadget.com/amp/2017/11/10/humvee-activision-call-of-duty-lawsuit/
The makers of Call of Duty, Activision, is being sued by our benevolent overlord for non-licensed usage of their trademarks and design. Think AM General stands a chance?
I'm betting they...
And I still want to get that deck to you. I already sent a PM to one fellow on here... but just in case, I'll ask openly: Anyone around Indianapolis able to take a HMMWV radio deck down to the rally for galaxie? I'd be happy to meet up with you somewhere tomorrow to pass it off to you...
I'm having to bail! I forgot that I had signed up for a thing with my fiancé's family Saturday evening, and it's just a bit too far to travel to want to worry about being back in Indianapolis by 1800.
I like spending a good, full day down there when I go.
I'd also love to join for Friday...
So thought that I'd throw this in here... Paul English, the MARS program manager, threw in some clarifying statements about this. (All the information was there, but it was majorly overlooked.)
First and foremost, he wanted to say that this excercise is targetted toward all license amateur...
Y'know, you're not the first to consider this. http://www.flashoffroad.com/features/Trivia/gossip/image/H1-6-door-wagon-003.jpg

So that means your handset isn't actually keying the radio? I know that one of biggest complains about the TRI replica radios is that while they use the same connectors, they are NOT compatible with standard military headsets and devices. I believe it was both a pinout and impedence...
I'm open to going when the heck ever I get this HMMWV running. Just got the parts ordered and we'll see what comes of it.
Looks pretty neat! Would be cool to see what it can do. Is it anything like the one they had on Top Gear trying to outrun the Challenger tank?
I hate it, but I do it all the time...and in the cold...and when it rains, it seems. I'll shoot you an invite when I have parts ready and I'm about to do it. Thanks for offering up a hand.
Alright, looks like mine can be either a DB-2831-5209 (6.5L detuned to 6.2L spec) or DB-2831-5149 (6.5L NA). Beltfed has a few of these sold as-is for cores for under $100/ea that I would try to clean up and put all new seals in. I'd definitely beat any of his prices if you know your pump is...
It's a DB2. I'd need one of two possible models...I know they all start with DB-2831...I'll look up the final digits in just a moment.

Hooked up the MSD ICE to my HMMWV to try and convince myself that I don't have to rebuild my injection pump. Computer agrees with my earlier testing...good current to both solenoids, excellent main pump fuel pressure, fuel present on return lines, glow plugs ok, but no fuel to the injectors...
I wish. I actually decided to do one final test today to be 100% sure it wasn't my fuel pump. The MSD ICE says that my fuel pump pressure is around 8 PSI, so it's definitely not a low flow issue there. I've got to get that pump out and rebuilt, and I'm not too excited to do that in the new...
I just heard about this interoperability exercise coming up soon. The intent is to put into practice some communication drills that would take place were we to lose conventional communication, so the DoD will be tying in MARS and other amateur radio groups into this exercise. More details...
Stuck trying to get the HMMWV running again. My IP decided it was going to stop pushing fuel to the injectors. It goes all the way to the return line with no air, but stops dead there. All solenoids working, too. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon.
