IMHO there is no big difference between a NA 6.2 and 6.5. Now the turbo 6.5 is a bit different. If your looking at HMMWVs for sale 99.99% will have a 6.2 in them as most of these will be 85-93 models.
you do have to watch for cylinder wall cracks in early 6.5 blocks
I park mine on a hill. When its time to go I release the brake let it roll and pop the the cluth in third gear. Works every time. I don't want to put any strain on my starter or batteries. :razz:
The trucks sold at the auctions in Atlanta GA and Riverside CA were all sold as off road use only. I was there at the GA auction.. With that said I don't know of anyone who had troulble gettting them titled. In GA you had to get the VIN verified by an LEO and the paper work to go along with it...
