OK, fantastic stories of stupid. The grenade one had me filling my shorts...not just stupid maintenace but was things so bad as to need to put live hand grenades next to the only (known) part of a driving maching that can self detonate?!?!
Gotta throw in my stupid story. Helicopter...
Great News!!! With lots of help, my system now works. It came down to a simple adjustment. instead of the flat tip screw pointing to other; it has to point to INT ONLY. Once I made the swith change; op check good, hope last long long time. Special thanks to Popacom and wsucougarx. Thank...
Good ideas, I like the light one especially. I hate the noise as well so when I start the truck, make sure I have oil pressure and it's idling smoothly and the E&E the cab. Use the "noise time" to leak check the engine or some such thing. Good time to thump the tires to check for pressure as...
I forgot all about this thread; thank you for bringing it back up. I went to the local "parts re-utilization" stores (junk yards to anyone else...they got grumpy when I said "junk" to them. They "dont sell junk!") . Found a front shaft off a 1/2 ton rated suburban. Part was nasty as all get out...
No, I bought the replacement NOS AM 1780A from Columbia Electronics. Never heard of bronco buddy.
Sorry to be dense and by all appearance you have some experience with the VIC 1, how did you set up your systems? I don't have a radio to hook into. I do have a SIGCARS (sp?) mount but I...
Without throwing stones, never could get the system to work:|. Went out on a limb and bought a $30 special...piece of crap, but then they said it wasn't tested. No kidding, they forgot to mention missing parts as well:evil:. So the saga continues. Found a NOS one, paid as much for it as I...
Toys for Tots
Got the privelage to drive the local Christmas Parade to support the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots. Somehow word got out to the community that we had a goal to fill the truck during the parade. LOTS of folks brought toys for the kids in need. Great experience! Some pictures...
Clips
Wish I could help. I have a former ND NG truck. It only has the clips for the grill. The front cover in on my wish list, in the meantime...it's hill billy ville. Cardboard, works wonders but looks like crap. Keep the pictures coming. One of these days I'll use 'em for reference.
As an Marine aviation type Crew Chief currently without a helicopter (an none in the future for that matter), I am using my unconventional markings as would have been on my CH-53A. See photo
The simplest answer I can give is it's your truck, paint it the way you want. If you want authenticity, there's plenty of threads that'll tell you the info you need. Since you want to go out on your own, my thought...go for it. I just finished painting mine and marked the bumper with my old...
My guess is they are for holding the ID 10 T pump, whch everyone knows is kept track of by using the BA 1100 N reports. Obviously someone failed to properly keep the report fully filled thus losing track of the bolts.
Not looking for help on this one, just passing on what I've found. Start with the initial problem. This might get a little long winded, so getting a beverage is probably a good deal. BTW, this is all for a M1009.
anyhoo, initial problem was the fuel filter base was leaking from the drain no...
Go to google, type in webflis. Once the site opens, go down to cage code and enter the 65909. check the block that tells you company info only. It says its an obsolete record for the Jeep Corporation.
In case you cannot access the site, here's what it says:
Company Name: JEEP CORP

When I was stationed at Alameda, we used to go across the Golden Gate Bridge, take the first exit and go explore all around that Ajax battery. At that time (early 80's) it was fenced off and no one could go near them. Nice to hear they were restored. Thanks for all the pictures![thumbzup]
