Are you talking about an M915 or an M916? I never saw a M916 that would go over 62 MPH if you pushed it over a cliff in neutral. The M915's with the CAT in them would run 70+.
I personally prefer the CAT. What do you hope to accomplish by putting an Allison in it? You will not get anymore top end. I drove an M916 with the CAT in it in the Army and 56-58 MPH is about all you are going to get.
I think the CAT pulls a lot better than the Allison.
The downside it that it...
Let me throw this into the mix. I have an Alabama Class A CDL. Every year I have to get a Medical Card which means a DOT physical. If I don't they will pull my license. In addidtion I take a medication that requires that my doctor sign a form that I have to send in every year or they will pull...
When I had the M109 I replaced the stock seats with a set of bucket seats out of a Dodge Neon. I had to fab the mounts to get the height right but I kept the slides so they could be pulled forward for shorter drivers. It made for a lot better ride than the stock box seat and was better than the...
Well the M923 I got for cheap has decided to become a money pit. After investing in a new rear axle and new fluids I now think I need to replace the transfer case. The is due to a noise that sounds like several cats caught in a cement mixer coming from under the truck in the vicinity of the...
You're welcome. I thought I did pretty well for working outside and doing it alone. I managed to do it without too much gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands. I just don't want to do it again anytime soon.
There were some on static duty when I was doing my Med Retirement at Fort Benning in 2007. They were using them for mount/dismount practice next to a Basic Training unit out at Sand Hill. They were in fairly decent shape them (even had batteries and fuel in them) but if they are still there they...
A4 is the bumper number on the M927. Truck 4 from A Company. It came from the FL National Guard.
Deuce-Coupe was the assigned driver when he was stationed at Camp Blanding, FL.
If I had known he was bidding on the truck I would have bowed out.
Since I'm trying to raise some money to produce a movie she is on the block.....hate to sell her. She is by far the best truck I ever got from GL. I actually hope the new truck sells first and maybe I can keep the M927......but money talks and bull.....................
I have a log splitter but it was down in the storage building. I just needed some lighter pine to start fires with so I took the trusty axe and had at it. Something in the lower back said "ouch" and that was that. Nothing that time and some muscle relaxer won't take care.
So far it is in the diamond catagory. I drove it around the property yesterday and all systems seemed to be go. Tranny shifts out, engine purrs, brakes work fine. One tire needs a valve stem replaced. I tore my back out of the frame yesterday chopping some lighter pine so I'm not much in the...
Come to the 2014 GA Rally next year and we'll show you what a bunch of fun guys we really are. Most folks are just trying to be helpful in their own unhelpful way.
