    M36a2 M146 idea

M36's aren't the rarest truck out there but they are not all that common. You should not have any problem selling it if you decide to join the 5 ton club.

Adding on board AC power to a 923

Let me know how fighting city hall works for ya. The idiots that created these laws never had to sleep in a little metal box after driving for ten hours. Don't get me started.

You could pull the trailer with the deuce using a tow dolly but you can't back it up.

    M35A3 steering problems

Have you checked to see if the front wheel drive is engaged? That can cause issues with steering on hard roads.

Contact CSMdavis in Hattiesberg.....he can get them off the lot and/or help the driver get them loaded. He may even have someone that can get them to your location.

Adding on board AC power to a 923

Do you really want to run a 6 cylinder diesel engine to produce 3K watts? Many over-the-road trucks are now running Auxillery Power Units to keep from running the truck engine. In many states they have "anti-idling" laws and will ticket you for excessive idling. Get a small diesel genny (no...

    M36a2 M146 idea

With the front of the trailer right up against the back of the cab there should not be too much overhang but there is already several feet behind the tandems. If you did not put a lot of weight in the rear of the box it would prob be OK. I would consider some type of DOT bumper in the rear to...

Looking for a M923A2 tarp and bow set. GA

It says it is for the FMTV series of vehicles. The tarp might be the right size but you may have issues with the bows. The dropside used a different kind than the solid side trucks since the setup could be removed and stowed easily to drop the sides.

Decided on a future purchase of a Deuce (live in MI)

Make sure you can park it where you live and can get reasonable insurance. All of this has been covered and the threads are archived. Maybe someone will post some links since I'm search impaired.

Will 5 Tons be less expensive next year?

At the time the deuces flooded the market the rock crawlers were crazy about the Rockwell axles and I cut up several trucks and made good money parting them out. They have since found another alxe that suits them better. There is not a big market for the 5 ton axles (the swamp buggy crowd still...

    Tire Question

You would be better off using the two piece bolt together 5 ton rims with the super single tires.

Will 5 Tons be less expensive next year?

I know a Army Reserve unit that still has a butt load of 900 series trucks on a back lot waiting turn in. They are all A2 tractors and they look like they have been there a while. I have no idea why the unit hasn't turned them in since they have the new trucks in the Motor Pool. The longer they...

Hello all and wow what a great source for info

Welcome to the Green Iron Lauging Accademy.:cookoo::cookoo: Don't say you weren't warned about the dreaded "Green Iron Disease". I think Derek (TaylorTradingCo) in Ringgold has some 1100x20 city tires that he's pimping off. PM me for his number.

Is it worth obtaining OEM wheel stud nut wrench & handle for a M923?

The Basic Issue Item (BII) lug wrench is adequate at best but you can lose a lot of flesh using one if you aren't careful. My recommendation is a set of inch sockets with ratchet and pull handle, a long and short extension, a Bud Socket (made for Bud lug nuts and thimbles), a cheater pipe and a...

    Tow air lines.

If you don't want the squiggly red and blue lines you can buy a cheap air hose and four glad hands and make them to the length you want. The air lines can't be used on a deuce since there are no glad hands on the front of the deuce to hook to.

    How old is my deuce?

Unless you are an old fart, like me and SCSG-G4, chances are your truck is older than you are. I read an article a while back about a B-52 pilot that flew the same plane his Grandfather (also a B-52 pilot) flew. Some things the taxpayers funded were built to last.
