Btw, I am not saying it will work, just the comparable values of other things we have used as fuels in these trucks.
And considering that 100% motor oil seems to work good for a number of people (not all), this oil might be within range. I wouldn't try it as a straight run of it though!

RE: Re: RE: EGT temps at idle?
Took it out for a test run.
One mountain pass to the next valley, 5-6 miles up, then 5-6 miles down, 7% grade.
Had the pump CRANKED up for the trip over, it was cruising at 900° - 1000° and 5-6 psi boost at 54-55 mph on the flat ground.
Started the hill and it...
I cranked the pump up. If I hit the throttle and let it rev to about 2200 or so, I see a little bit of boost build up.
I will be taking it for a test drive in an hour or two.
Yeah, I know the drill on diesels, but I wasn't ready for how COLD this one runs.
Even idling it at 1200 to 1500 rpm barely raised the temps.
This is another reason why I REALLY like having exhaust brakes. They warm the motor up faster, and are good to use for prolonged idling.
Let alone the...
Ok, I put the thermocoupler in, EGT gauge installed in the cab, and while at idle I am only getting around 200°f or so. When I rev it up, I can barely get it above 300°. And high idle of around 1200 to 1500 rpm is only around 250° or so.
That normal? Or is my gauge bad (thermocoupler probe is...
RE: Emergency flashers on Duece
Download the manual is a good start.
But getting a real hard copy of the -10 (operator's manual), and keeping it IN the truck at all times helps even more ;)
As long as the trailer is rated for at least 20k lbs, you should be alright.
When I got my last three trucks, one was on a trailer, and the other two drove home.
2005 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW.
In my other truck I am running about 40 gallon WMO and a mix of diesel and gas for the rest. Runs great actually.
I should run out there right now while it's still cold and see how it starts (did fine at 30° the other day).
Ok, I need to make a trip soon and want to take my truck that has the FDC bypassed, but also want to run WMO to save on fuel costs.
I know the motor will still burn straight WMO if I put it in there, but what would be about the right ratio of WMO to gas to get fairly close to the density of...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Why does one truck
Funny part of this is, my wife's truck will be the nicely restored truck. And it has the -1D motor with the D turbo.
BUT, she wants the truck to really whistle! I guess it will be more impressive driving in parades, etc.
I wouldn't say mine whistles THAT...
RE: Re: RE: Why does one truck
Hmm, I went and looked again, the quieter one is actually a 1988 motor, NOT an 1978.
And it is definitely a lot quieter as far as the whistle goes.
Tempted to pull both turbo's and examine them. After that, polish and clean them up (inside for performance, not...
RE: Why does one truck
The exhaust housing on the D turbo is wide. Whereas the C turbo narrows down noticeably.
Search and you will see plenty of pictures on this.
Both exhausts seem tightly mounted.
