Ok, I have two 1971 AM General M35A2s that both have -1C motors, and both have C turbos.
One was built in 77, the other in 78.
Both trucks whistle, but one will whistle a LOT more then the other.
I have a 69 Kaiser that has the -1D motor with the D turbo. So I know the difference in turbos and...
There are a couple of branded versions of the Optima battery. Orbital is one, etc.
They don't have the same cranking amps, but they especially don't have the same reserve amp hours that the larger hawker batteries have.
# CCA - 1225
# Reserve Capacity 240 min
# Capacity - 120 Ah C20
# Usable...

There, the Hawker AGM batteries are what you are talking about.
Btw, all THREE of the trucks I just got have these! One set looks to be NEW.
I just got commercial insurance on two of mine.
Here is what I was quoted.
$209/6 months for liability, uninsured, etc.
$257/6 months ^ plus Comp.
$276/6 months ^ plus collision.
And for $200 a YEAR, I could add a 1 Million $ blanket coverage for all vehicles. But I would have to have ALL my...
Correct, it was the older TMs that suggest using a second person to steer/brake the second/towed vehicle.
As for laws, they state if the trailer is connected by a 5th wheel, and there is communications between the two vehicles, it is ok to have a passenger in the trailer.
As for towing...
Delo, cause I HATE the smell of the Rotella right after an oil change (at least on my Dodge's anyways).
Of course with my 'fleet' getting larger soon, the coastal might be worth a shot!
If for nothing else it will be a good oil to run for a change or two to make sure everything is clean and in...
RE: Re: RE: Wheelbase width?
Shipping dimensions list the track width of 70", which is the center of duals to center of duals.
And they show overall width, outside of tire to outside of tire to be 94".

RE: Re: How much is your Deuce
I was quoted from State Farm $207 / 6 months for full commercial usage.
I won't get a better answer for the antique insurance until I get the registration done (they only do antique for cars, but the m35 WILL be registered as a car with the historic registration.)...
Re: RE: Simple length question for M35A2
Hmm, going to be close.
The trailer I will be using is a gooseneck, so I cannot put the truck as far forward as you can. I can only run it up until the bumper hits the uprights on the trailer.
I knew the width would be at the max. But I am not worried...
Well, 20' deck space, I just wanted to make sure I have enough room for the ramps to fold back onto the trailer.
Total trailer length is 24' with the ramps folded back down.
I was pretty sure it would work, but figured I would ask first.
If it doesn't work, I will have to chain the ramps up to...
I will hopefully be going to pick up my three trucks fairly soon.
But I need one measurement that I didn't see in the manuals.
All the trucks are WO/W, and I need the length from the front bumper to the rear of the rearmost part of the rear tire.
Reason is, I will be using a trailer that has...
Does this place have the building just off base where you sign in at?
Or do you have to go on base first?
Last one I went to had a large safe they could store your stuff in while you went on base.
