Yeah, that's really the next item I need to tear apart and fix. So here is the list...
1. Cab air ride
2. Battery drain/charging issue (probably the fact that I used 3 old and one new battery)
3. Upgrade air dryer
4. Tires - starting with two decent MV/T's or XZL's on the front. Mix and match...
Looks good! If you have enough departure angle, it is probably worth the extra space to keep the box as is. I'm sure modifying the box to increase departure angle wouldn't be the most fun process.
How does it feel off road? I know your overall weight is down, but CG has probably moved up a bit.
Thanks suprman. I will check that angle as well.
Oh, one other thing. The air dryer is exhausting very frequently 30-40 seconds when driving. It makes me think the air pump is running constantly and not being told to shut take a rest when adequate pressure is built in tanks. I've taken apart...
Ok, updates today... both good and puzzling.
Yesterday, at the request of a customer, I took the truck to their location for a lunch meeting. They were interested to see the truck. It started sluggishly when I went to leave, but I made it home
Today was M-1101 recovery day from last week's...
Took the M-1083 on a 140 mile ride today to recover a M-1101 for a nearby SS member. This was the first time I had really used the truck for something other than a shakedown run or cruising. The 1101 wasn't much of a workout, but the heat today gave the engine fan clutch and transmission cooling...
Wow, you are coming along well!
If your focus is space and function, leave it
If your focus is outside appearance, cut and angle the rear floor past the truck frame

Saturday started out kind of wet in Nashville, but the rain stopped and the sun came out. Here is the truck sitting ready and my helper... When the paint was wet, it looked great, but it was really faded when dry.
Once it dried up, I went to painting... All taped up. I also taped windows, but...
Fan clutch is now working great! I took the truck out for a fresh tank of diesel on Sunday evening and chose a station where I'd have to climb over a good sized ridge going each way. The fan did not engage on the outbound trip, but did kick on coming back over the ridge. It then engaged two more...
I can't keep up with you Reworked! Nice mod... It looks like you mounted in place of tachometer in a winch control panel. So your truck had the winch control panel? Or did you add it?
It all makes much more sense once to take it apart the first time.
I had silicone sealant and standard hand tools. Then there's the whole shim deal and setting gear backlash...
Man a working air ride cab is so great... but mine isn't either. I have the drivers side bag leaking horribly fast. So much so that there is almost no pressure built in the rear wet tank when I shut off the truck. I think my CTIS is struggling to see adequate pressure to work due to that leak. I...
