I measured the side to side movement of the shaft. I was not able to get a straight on reading. I had to get a slightly angled reading on my dial indicator. I got .018 of side to side play on the shaft. The vanes do not contact the housing. Does this sound excessive? I am kind of on a time clock...
I have searched around in old posts and have not found the answer I need. I pulled the turbo to tap for a Pyro probe. With the turbo off I checked the play with my finder. There was some play. It spins free and the vanes have not contacted the housing. It is a D turbo. 1st question is what if...
Truck depot rebuilds will have a depot rebuild tag on the dash and will have a generic data plate with a place to put in the manufacturer of the truck (actually just the frame).
Thats interesting. I do think that some of the earlier serial numbers were in front of the steering arm bracket but I would wait for someone else to chime in before grinding more. Did you have to take off your air assist drag link?
RE: Re: RE: insurance
That answers that question for me. I have Gulfway for my Deuce.
Joe,
Did you ask if liability for the trailer or towed vehicle was covered by the towing vehicle? I figured the trailer or towed vehicle would not be covered for damage.
The biggest problem you have is that it was depot rebuilt. They mix up the stuff when they are depot rebuilt so most likely all your stuff is not original to the truck. The only original thing is the frame. Your air assist is limiting your access but the number is back there and it is the only...
Are those the ones I saw in Lane's truck? If you were closer I would be tempted. I need a hunting cottage for deer camp. I could alway hillbilly it with a wood stove.
Half the time to process the application is taken up by them processing payment. By not having to process the payment they can do double the amount of applications in the same amount of time. At least that is what was told to my by them.
RE: Re: RE: insurance
I also forgot to add that there are two things we need to look at. Liability and insurance to repair the towed vehicle. My travel trailer was covered under my liability from my truck but if I messed it up and did not have separate insurance on the trailer then they would...
RE: Re: RE: insurance
Did you file a claim on your truck Randy or was all the damage to the other car? I don't think a blanket statement of anything attached to your vehicle is covered is accurate. I am not in insurance but I deal with them on a regular basis. Accident reports are brief at best...
I like the old landing gear. Messing with cranking takes too long.
Kenny,
I had forgotten, how much is your trailer? Little chance I could come down and get it but it would be nice to know.
Try taking a piece of paper and a pencil and rub the pencil across like you do to a pad of paper to see what was last written on it. It may bring it out. If this does not work then you will need to mess up the nice deep green paint. Spray cans are available from various venders but it will not...
They come up on ebay and some sellers make them repro. I got one for my truck for when the winch is installed. If you get one get the one that matches what you have not the generic one. In other words, if you have a Kaiser Jeep then get a Kaiser Jeep dataplate. Be sure to get a with winch or...
RE: insurance
One big problem is if you are using it as a wrecker than most people would not consider it a show or parade vehicle. Recovery and towing of vehicles is infinitely more hazardous and is much more likely to result in bent metal. If they knew we owned tow bars they would probably...
The frame number is the one they use when they are rebuilt. No matter what the cab or other parts were originally on. That is why they are really mix masters and looking at the year does not always represent an accurate picture. The year of the frame is the only thing you could know for sure...
