you cannot remove the countershaft without pulling the trans. you can remove the mainshaft, you will drop most of the 14 rollers that go in the head gear, be sure you find them all. there are better prices around.
sounds like it is broken. pull top cover and look. if the gear is missing it would be obvious. i doubt if this was ever done, it's just a bad idea. if anything they would have changed it back to a 3052.
it sounds like the overflow valve is not seating at low pressure. i would swap it with another and see what the cranking pressure does. it is important to have enough pressure to charge the ip head plunger.
get a 0 to 100 gauge that has a big enough scale to show 5 psi.
actually i don't think any of them will hold pressure since there is a bleed feature in the overflow valve. put the gauge in the bleed port of the filter assy. it should read 5 psi with just the pump on engine not running. cranking...
unidentifiable (means i can't say) sources said that very soon there would be a bolt on kit for hyd power steering comming out of korea for around $1200. anyone know anything??
RE: Re: RE: Mileage going up on towed deuces?
the transfer will lube itself the trans wil not. putting the trans in gear will guarantee it will be ok. putting the trans in neutral will almost certainly mean it will be ok, but things can go wrong
RE: Re: RE: motor wizard needed! lds ldt questions
every picture you could ever want to see of both engines is in the multifuel engine rebuilding manual
a deuce should always be towed with the transfer in neutral and the transmission in gear. any other way risks serious damage to trans. the odometer will still register.
every ldt i have ever seen (in 18 years) have 2 holes. there was a 'bulletin' to up grade them a long time ago. there are different numbers but the fuel delivery rate is so close i can not imagine them all working just fine. oil schnozzles are on the block under the cylinder bore and on ldt...
pump is same, injectors are same, different pistons and you must aim the oil nozzles precisly. turbo is different but how different is not obvious since my 205 hp lds only made 14 lbs boost. until someone dynos a turned up ldt swapping to a lds may be a waste of time.
RE: M35A2 Starting Issues- "Saddam
so when you say start you really mean crank? there are only a few things to check, just need a test light with a real long wire to see if starter is getting power. no point replaceing anything until you diagnose it properly.
