    overdrive gears available soon

hi all, ernie (sqsanta) had wanted to know if this project had died, but it is just delayed a little. i have a major gear manufacturer lined up to make 25 sets of .69 od gears. i have to have a gear cutter custom made for the mainshaft gear and that may take up to 8 weeks. here are pictures of...

    Alternate spare tire stowage/mount suggestions?

this does not help with where, but if i was going to go to singles i cetainly would not go to 11:00s when you can go to 14.5r20s. tires are cheap almost new. mount them tubeless and carry some fix-a-flat. ride is much better, braking is much better, steering may be better as well

Deuce Arctic Heater Info Compilation Thread

some engines do not have a water pump and rely on convection to circulate water through the radiator for cooling. this is probably the main reason the heater was mounted low in relation to the water jacket of the engine.

    Transmission model questions

6453 means 600 ft lbs rated, 5 = 5 speed, 3 = overdrive. no way it would ever fit, it is huge in comparason. rebuild yours, it is very simple and parts are cheap. by the way, you have a typo or misread the label, yours is a 3053 and you will only find one from a 2 1/2 ton mil truck as that is...

Simplified Injection Pump Plumbing --- Why Not???

ernie, yours is bypassed. so it is not really a multifuel anymore, just a diesel. it will still burn other oils but will not try to change the fuel rate on it's own to control power output.
  17. m-35tom

    pyro temp reading too high

if you can run 65 it has nothing to do with the fuel rate but i hope you have a spare engine
  18. m-35tom

    Turn up fuel

yes, i remember the whole procedeure, but can not find the pages that were sent to me by clark truck. 9 psi at 2300 rpm and 5psi at 1500 rpm for droop screw
  19. m-35tom

    Turn up fuel

the field method of adjusting the fuel rate is 9 psi at intake test plug
  20. m-35tom

    Turn up fuel

when you start any diesel with a mechanical pump, the fuel rate defaults to full fuel until the govenor limits the speed to idle. in other words it makes no difference if you crank it 'on the floor' or not. most to all the multifuels i have worked on have bad injectors. that is to say that they...
