I replaced all the batt's with known good hawker agm's, I hooked the slave vehicle through the slave receptacle and it's tied directly into the battery wires. The only thing I get when turning the ignition switch to start is a thump from the protective control box, no thud from the starter.
Trying to recover an M818 today and failed miserably. I put good batt's in, hooked a slave vehicle to it, turned on the battery switch which provoked the air buzzer, went to start and nothing. I am getting a click from the protective control box and the voltage is dropping maybe 2 volts...
Do you have the TCU that goes under the driver's side rear seat? I can probably find the wiring diagrams, let me know where you are at on this project as you certainly need the TCU to make it work. (Transmission Controller Unit)
Check brakes!!! Bring a set of known good batteries (you might burn up the alternator trying to charge batteries that have likely been dead for who knows how long), bring a way to fill up low tires (I use a hose that hooks into the rear emergency air gladhand), Oil/Antifreeze/Gear Oil, check...
Not for the weak of heart. I decided to fix my new spare since my good spare got placed on the rear axle. That wasn't an easy job either but back to the point. If you want to break down a Deuce rim and pull the tire off, it's a job in itself. First, make sure you break the bead down. If you...
I've got one titled in GA for sale that will be alot more promising than what you're trying to bid on at GL. This truck starts and runs on it's own and doesn't have a rod hanging out of the side of the block like some that go for auction. GL is a gamble and sometimes you win, sometimes it's...
I've got 3 to fix currently. I lost the last one to a bone of some sorts trying to hit the turn around and park it in the yard. The truck had one flat on recovery but it was on a dual tire axle so I let it slide. Now the inner just behind it is flat as well as one of the tires on my truck...
The LDS has a small canister underneath the turbo to actuate the waste gate. The air filter will still be under the hood in the deuce. I've only driven 1 deuce with an LDS and you'll know it has one because it will pull like there's no tomorrow in any gear. My local guard unit has one and...
I've got a truck that has it mounted by u bolts where the ring mount would go on the driver's side behind the cab in case anyone is still wondering. According the the markings, they did this in Apr of 07'. Truck might have went across the pond for all I know. I'll send the number's to CARNAC...
Alternator has survived the abuse. I cranked it up a few minutes ago, disconnected the negative for a few seconds and all systems stayed powered up and the voltmeter was in the green. I think the dead battery just worked the alternator too hard and it went into thermal protection mode. Seems...
Just the hardtop and the shift boots. I didn't notice a battery warmer kit or extra insulation when I changed the batteries today. I need to get the number's over to CARNAC so he can tell me where this truck came from before it made it to Robins. The heater is awesome but it may be too much...
Just picked up another Deuce today. Kaiser Jeep M35A2 WO/W, Hardtop and Artic Heater. It didn't have bedsides in the pics but they along with a good cargo cover were waiting for me in the bed to put onto my first truck. The GL rep slaved it off and away we went. The batteries were dead and I...
I know that I'm not the smartest man in the world but how is putting air to service line of the truck being towed going to activate the brake system on a truck that has air over hydraulic brakes? I know these 800 series trucks will roll freely with no air pressure so the emergency line is...
The National Guard is letting all of their's out finally. It's most likely no longer govn't owned, The Guard is the last to receive new trucks and they halted order's for replacement parts over a year ago. I'm in the Guard and speak firsthand. We've got LMTV's and the Deuce's are just an item...
Mine only whined occasionally until I turned the fuel up. Now it whines whenever you press the diesel pedal down in 4th or 5th. I only turned it up a little, just a light puff of black smoke when pressing the accelerator at idle. Runs like a completely different truck though.
He's just testing the water. I do love the multi fuel mulit paint scheme. Paint the Axles yellow, that'll look like good construction equipment, paint the rest of the truck white, that's what some flipper's do, black frame, check. Now 30K sounds like what I spent!!!!!! I'll give him credit...
Just curious as to what most of these trucks run oil pressure wise. Mine drops to about 10# at idle and just below 60# going down the road. It's got a 120# gauge so I'm wondering if mine's running low on oil pressure. I'm aware that they originally came with a 60 psi gauge but I'm a little...
In regards to the hole cut out in the tailgate, that is useful on an unarmored variant to make sure you're not backing over a car or something. The MTVR's are great and I'm glad I'm young enough to get one in about 30 years when they go on GL. The only shame is that the Army developed this...
