lots of deuce pics and a few questions

It looks like a fired 105MM projectile. I say fired because of the rifling marks on the brass ring. This is what provides the seal when the howitzer is fired. Since it does not have fuse on it I would say it is a dummy round that they fired for some reason. The troop seat was probably cut so the...

    Cold weather starting my deuce.

Re: RE: Cold weather starting my deuce. Mine was the same 1/2 inch square opening used on the diffs, trans, and transfer. Someone must have changed yours or mine. The 1/2 inch socket wrench fit tight until it exploded. It would make sense to have it the same as the rest of the truck. If is a...

    M35A2 Cold Weather Starting problems

http://www.batterystuff.com/battery-chargers/24-volt/0-4amps/BM24041.html This one is a 24 volt charger that maintains and desulfates. It is $134 though. My 12 volt charger desulfates or .as it calls it, reconditions. I run each battery individually once in a while on the vehicles that sit.

    M35A2 Cold Weather Starting problems

Does the Mog have a nato slave cable receptical? If so I would get a slave cable for these situations. I just had to use mine to start my Cucv that had been sitting.

    Cold weather starting my deuce.

I just got done changing the ether cylinder on my deuce and bleeding the system after I ran it out of fuel last week end. Turns out the cylinder was empty. I tried a few times to start it when the temp got below 20 degrees and it started just by cranking and giving some of the go pedal. I wonder...

HELP, vehicle won't shut off M1009.

RE: HELP, vehicle won In addition to the above stuff check to make sure the lock cylinder is actually moving the ignition switch. It sounds like your ignition switch is staying on. There is a rod that transfers the rotation of the lock cylinder to the ignition switch on the lower part of the...

What can you get for $45

I think this whole thread is just a way for Kenny so show all of us he has a nice M108 to pick stuff up with. Thanks for rubbing it in. Like you couldn't just roll it off the trailer. Quit playing around.

    M818 home from Indiana questions.

In Michigan you have 48 hours from the time you get a vehicle to get it plated and titled so for the ride home or to the Secretary of State's office you do not need a plate as long as you get home within the 48 hours. Reciprocity between the states should have covered him if he was stopped...

Going rate for the M818 on GL?

I have to see how things shake out if I ever get my W2. I probably should have worked harder at getting the M52 but many factors were conspiring against me. I will keep you in mind Bruce but right now I don't have enough of the greens stuff. All my recent questions about the M52 stems from a GSA...

Going rate for the M818 on GL?

I am giving up on the M52. Next I am looking at GL for an M818. What have the prices been running? I am looking to get a general idea. I don't mean ones like Armada's brand new m818 with that new car smell and 100 miles on it. I am talking about the normal "uh don't know if it starts" run of the...

    Jump Starting Question

The problem is not starting it or running the engine. The problem is blowing up the alt. I am not an expert but I do know that you have a great chance of damaging the alt if you run it without a battery. I know it is bad to check for charging by disconnecting the battery while running. I don't...

What can you get for $45

Paul knows the trailer in question. New tires now. You can tell I was expecting it by my watching you in the mirror. I am planning to pull off all the wood and put down some metal plate and take out the extra 10 inches of deck height. For everyone else, Paul was helping me out on a recovery...

    Jump Starting Question

Yes. Keep the batteries in the truck. Even dead batteries.

    Jump Starting Question

You have to have two of the jump starters. One for one battery and one for the other. I have done it before. I have seen some 24 volt jumpers but two 12 volt models hooked up right will have twice the capacity of the one 24 volt jumper. I assume you know how the batteries are set up. Two each...

What can you get for $45

I just bit the bullet and got tires for my car hauler. $400 worth of tires. I started to go get my water buffalo and about 30 miles out I felt a vibration and found that the whole tread came off one tire. I had one spare I put on and the second spare was not holding air. I decided to quickly go...

Oooh! oooh ! can I have it??

Mig 17 two seaters can be gotten pretty cheap. Thirty five or forty grand. The problem is maintaining it with the annuals and putting filling it up with Jet A. One can afford to buy but not have. I knew a guy with an L-39 trainer jet from a soviet block country. It cost a thousand dollars to...

What can you get for $45

My trailer was cheap and has paid for itself many times over with hauling cucvs home ans such. I gave $200 a few years ago. Another trailer I have I bought as an old popup trailer. I got it for $50 and I have used it for about 15 years. Cheap trailers never let you down. Old dry rotted tires do.
