Hey Chris as for the chain hoist it just a plane old chain hoist. When I was in the Army, tools like that we got from GSA. So the make would be who was the cheapest bid that year. You can look it up on the GSA web site by NSN. To see who is selling them now. You can also fill your shopping cart...
In the wiki it says that the M939's are just rebuilt M809's???
In David Doyle's book Standard catalog of U S Military vehicles. It says that the M809 and M939 were produced side by side briefly as the M939 series production began and the M809 production ended.
Now I ask why would they be...

I've gotten the bar that comes up and says a popup has been blocked clik here to see it, a few times.

I was looking thought the TM for the trans & transfer. It's dated May 1976. There is a list of "M" numbers for the Deuce. Along with the ones most of us newer guys are use to, there are some that I have never heard of. Like:
M352A typeo?
M36A2C
M45A2G
M46A2...
That cap is for the new plastic fuel cans. You shuld be able to hook 2 12v batterys to the plug to test run it. When I was in all we had was the pot belly stoves. All you needed with those is a "bic"
I'd set it so 1) It is easy to load and unload. 2)have the front a little higher than the rear so any water to get in will run out the back doors and not sit in the front. 3)make your self some good steps to get in and out with. A ladder is fine to get in and out with , but not if you are...
Both of my M818 do that with the manual throttle not the smoke but they will idle up to red line. I have to push the handle back in they will not idle down on there own thought.
I was thinking the other day about the towwed artillary thread. Some how the 10 ton came to mind. I read that it was made to tow the 155mm gun or the 8"howitzers. I was wanting to see one of these set ups. How cool would that be in a parade.
On a side note what towed artillary pice was it that...
This has come up be for and it seems most if not say to check for a air/fuel leak. It also seems to be the M818's with the 2 tanks and the line on and around the fuel selector valve.
Mine does the same thing, as soon as I get time I will be looking at the lines on mine.
The TM for the M871A2 shows both the military plug for lights and a civi plug. Not shure on the M871 or M871A1. The brake are the same for all.
As for "lowbed" if you can call 55" low:roll:
The TM for the M871A2 is TM 9-2330-386-14&P
I do not know the TM for the M871 or M871A1
There is...
