Check out the ecoroamer. Bio-diesel? Solar-panels? Recycled materials used to make the cabinets and countertops? Eco my ass. Why call something like that anything other that what it is, which is a badass motorhome. Go adventuring. Have a ball. If you can do it more efficiently, right on. But...
Interesting. Looks like they're going to tie to box into the cab? Wonder how they're going to account for the chassis twisting and flexing? Looks cool though. Sometimes I wish I would have built my motorhome out of a 5-ton (or bigger). But past a point, the size of these trucks really start to...
33x12.5" is a MUCH better looking aspect ratio than 32x11.5" if you ask me. Hate the way those wide squatty tires look. But then, I'd prefer 33x10.5" tires to 12.5" wide tires on most vehicles too...
The toe-in hasn't changed. That's totally independent of the wheels. I'd be curious to know how much offset/backspacing you ended up with if it's not too much trouble to measure.
The 'slack' having to do with the tie-rod could then only be coming from either of those two ball-joints. Slack in...
My toe is set at just a little bit more than 1/8" (43" dia. tires), and I didn't notice any handling problems (wandering, shimmying, etc.), but like I said - I haven't put more than a few miles on the truck since mounting the new wheels/tires. I didn't measure the runout of any of my tires...
Only reason I might not end up making one of these mounts is if I decide to replace the 24V alternator with a more modern unit too. Even then, this mount is a big help in figuring out some critical dimensions.
Looks sharp! Hope switching those tires around does the trick. 1/4" is a lot. I wasn't able to get many of my rims better than within 1/8" either. Mostly because the rim shells weren't perfectly round/straight. If you're not planning on adding any type of PS, you might notice the extra scrub (I...
Just got those files from Juergen. I'm going to make a simple solid-model whenever I have some time, and then I'll upload these files to the CAD Library where anybody/everybody can download them.
PS. any of you guys that use CAD should feel free to contribute and upload any files you want to...
Sorry to hear that you're having problems with those wheels. What tires are you running? With 11.00's the scrub radius isn't THAT bad. If I remember right, I think G calculated that it should be about 2 3/8"? Nothing I was too concerned about because I'm adding full hydro steering. Haven't put...
