Yep. Look into the dual fuel line mod and its results. Fuel button lower # too after you have an EGT gauge. Great sounding engine. Don't use transfer case "LO" and reverse to pull a load.
Nice job. I really value feature creativity. How did you do the wire through the hinge area? Or did you go with button type contacts that mate when closed?
When I say mine are loose, it la is kind of strange but it means the bolts are snug like rusty snug, but loosened up. If I put a wrench on them, they are still tight, but need to be taken out, cleaned, maybe lubed, amd reinstalled tighter. I can slightly pull the fan away from the clutch hub...
OK. That is slightly different than mine. My A2 is a Horton clutch and the fan blade is fastened with bolts, not studs/nuts. I'd like to convert it to studs/nuts to aleviate the looseness issue I am having.
Blade attachment bolts are loose. Reach in front and you can feel the washers will be loose, indicating the bolts loosened up. Common on these. Done mine twice so far, will add Loc-Tite next time, but I think it may be caused by the multi-layer composition of the fan blade hub actually.
Finished the passenger side engine bolt on upgrades (A2, 8.3L). New high output alternator, light weight gear reduction starter, and 3 ton A/C compressor. All genuine parts, nothing Chinese. Stock removed parts for sale in classifieds.
It is not absolutely required to index it, but I do highly advise it, partially for the reason you said. It is a simple task of drilling a single hole in the tensioner bracket. I also recommend to cut off one stop ear on the tensioner so it can be opened further, and to also make a new longer...
Yes it will fit and work, the alternator is just flipped over. J-180 defines an SAE mounting pattern. The only difference is the 250 engine requires a double v belt pulley with more standoff to it or to shim the alternator forward like done here. The 8.3 uses an 8 groove with no additional...
Hi all. I'm looking for known actual experiences of Detroit Locker usage in our 5t trucks vs open diffs. From my understanding, marine trucks were equipped with them. A lot affects this, so please no stories of how it ran in your buddy's 68' Camaro, your dad's 1978 Peterbuilt dump truck, or...
Pic of the Cummins cast iron conventional alternator bracket installed on my 8.3L. This will properly mount any J-180 "short" type alternators onto your engine. I am benchmarking a Genuine Delco Remy 110A rated 24v alternator. The pulley, which is not included, is smaller diameter, so the...
