What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

There is a dash switched 12v for the heater blower low speed feed as indicated by the small wire at the battery connection as mentioned. Tap into that going into the blower switch, and you got it.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Yes, would have to be able to prove they were speeding though. Because, if they were not speeding, it may not have been pulling out in front of them.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

He doesn't need to tell you his insurance or where he lives. Excessive speed is always a fault factor. Speed limits are established for the safe stopping distance of a given environment. A driver always needs to be in control of their vehicle. You may have to prove they are speeding though...

    Hemtt Detroit idle adjustment?

You're good. Anything DD powered should have a CO2 extinguisher in it. But as long as they are ran occassionally, it is not a problem. If it has sat for a long while, that is when you want to be ready with it at first crank up. Take the good lessons learned from others for free and use it to...

Putting a HMMWV 400 AMP alternator on a Cummins NHC250. Has anyone done it? Need info

Thanks, but not really. I just guess and then fool eveybody, it's more fun. Looking over your wish list, only 2 things come to mind: (1) How much power will you actually be utilizing from the 3500W inverter (continuous, not peak), and for what amount of average time? (2) This MRAPPER light...

    Hemtt Detroit idle adjustment?

You can easily adjust the idle speed down without having to "run the rack" on a DD. The buffer screw is for adjusting out the "hunting" that occurs at first cold start. DD specs say that 2 hunts are a perfectly adjusted buffer screw, during first cold start of the day. A DD typically will not...

Putting a HMMWV 400 AMP alternator on a Cummins NHC250. Has anyone done it? Need info

The niche alternator manufacturers are ok but sensitive to failing due to temperature of the electronics. If you are able to route outside air the the cooling air inlet of the alternator, it will drop the operating temp of the alternator by nearly 100F, as underhood air temps are typically...

Putting a HMMWV 400 AMP alternator on a Cummins NHC250. Has anyone done it? Need info

I measured the recharge current after start on my 925A2 with the stock 60A alternator. It was 6 amps max just after the engine fired, which then trickled down to near zero. This was recharging two new group 31 batteries in series. The 8.3L engine fires off almost instantly, especially in...

Tailgate lift assist using spring hinges... with photos!

I'm going to he greedy, but can I ask for a quick pic or vid of how it reacts with one spring in it vs 2? I'm looking for a little less assist, but that much on a drop side with troop seat installed may be just the ticket.

Tailgate lift assist using spring hinges... with photos!

Stick welding is harder to learn than MIG. Stick is what farmers use to repair their rusty brush hogs. Now post some pics of the tailgate fully down!

Tailgate lift assist using spring hinges... with photos!

Genius! How far down will they let the gate free hang open? I know this is not a welding thread, but I have always said people are only limited by their tools. I'd strongly suggest you to buy a used name brand MIG welder (vs new Harbor Freight welder). It is just like a hot glue gun for...

    Winch mounting plates

There is a lot of good info here. All you need to do is to remove your prices from your posts on this thread. Just do that by editing those posts, throw an ad in the classifieds, reference that ad in this thread, and you are golden.

Ditto to above. Anything beyond that is outside of intended design capacity and based on opinion not data.

    Winch mounting plates

All points valid. Great you can bring it to market for a reasonable price. Follow the rules, list it in the classifieds, and everybody wins. I'm not a moderator, but as a member who also sells on the board, just play fair, and we hope you make a million dollars from it.
