The prices quoted by MILITARYRESTORATION are cheap. Please buy one from him. If you have to have a brand new winch chain, I'd sell mine for $75 plus shipping since I am not using it. PM me if you are interested. If not, it will continue to hang from the shelf in my shop waiting for a winch...
Lance, I swear I was thinking the same thing...something about removing the quiet pack from a 10KW genset to excite the little guy, but I hesitated...!
If anyone is interested in 11 very nice Michelin XLs (1100x20s) mounted on 5 ton rims, please PM me. The tires are very, very nice...90% or better. One has some cracks in the side wall...the rest are very nice. I'd take $1,850 for the lot of them. They are at John Winslow's place in NC. I really...
I have decided to sell a new-in-the-box fuel burning heater set-up for the van body on an M109/M185 shop van. I'll take $675 plus shipping. It would be much easier to bring it to Aberdeen if you are coming since the box is big and it is fairly heavy, but I can also ship it via UPS. PM me if...
I suppose I took it for granted that the brakes work. As DITTLE said, brakes are kind of important  so make sure the truck has brakes. I was assuming they worked fine when I generated my list.
Bjorn, did I understand that correctly...you are supposed to rev the motor up with your foot on the brake and the transmission in gear and hold it there to warm up the transmission? In the M939 series manuals, it says that you should drive away slowly in very cold weather to allow the...
I want to add another to my list...13-run the truck for a while and walk away for about an hour...check to see if there is still air pressure and how much. I once could not drain the air from my tanks because my truck was parked unavoidably in a very muddy area. I went out to the truck about two...
1. It is quite possible that the petcocks that allow hot coolant to travel to the heater are closed. Make sure they are open. If they are closed, the heater will not produce heat.
2. First and reverse are non-synchro gears. I never downshift into first...never really had the need to. If I need...
While I like the lockers for the coolness factor, and would like them to be there if sold that way, I have heard just what John said...that lockers create an incredible strain on the driveline. It is probably better for a tractor NOT to have lockers. HOTRODEUCE: If you are hauling trailers on...
I don't suggest frequently opening and closing the petcocks mentioned above. They break easily when they stick from sitting. I have one on a deuce in my yard that was closed and it broke when I tried to open it. Not a big deal, but I have to replace it.
Nice truck...for what you paid...if you paid anywhere near where Chris was asking originally...you stole that truck. That is easily a $15K truck. I've owned several M939 series tractors and that one ranks right up there. Congrats!
There are few guys on this list I trust as much as MARK (AKA "The Supply Captain" and AKA EMMADO22) when it comes to knowledge about the hobby. He has said on numerous occasions that the supply is dwindling and the end is near. How near is the really pertinent question. I have heard...
You have the electric wiper motor kit on the new truck...very nice. Someone will be very fortunate to get your old truck for what you will be asking. Good luck!
