Most states want it at least 12 inches above the ground. Other than that, just make sure it is clearly visible and securely attached in a horizontal position. By horizontal I mean that you need it level and turned on it's side or mouted diagonally.
I almost forgot. Sometimes the relay sticks and keeps the starter going. This has fried a few starters. If the starter keeps going pull the plug from this relay.
The starting system needs 24 volts to trigger the starter. The relay takes the 12 volt pos from the stock ignition switch and uses it to trigger the relay in question. This then supplies 24 volts to the starter. Does this make sense?

He may have used the following link. It shows parts and prices from Junk yards around the country. I have found more than a few things with it.

Sorry. I got busy today and could not get to it. I will try to remember tommarow. Sorry, I was gone all day until 1900 then I went outside to work and forgot to check for you.
I am sure the cheaper one has an extra terminal for an normally closed positon and it opens then the relay is tripped. Using it should not hurt anything. The side we use in the cucv ignition is the normally open and it closes when it is tripped. By open I mean that the conductive path is not...
I think you are seeing the dimmer switch for the headlights. The ignition switch is higher on the column and the rod is in a position that prohibits someone from being able to grab it to start the truck. If you crack open the outer shell of the upper part of the column you would find the rod...
Anyone going? Anyone been to it before? I am going to try to go this weekend either Saturday or Sunday. I may take the cucv or I may get really ambitious and take the deuce. Free to re-enactors and people with MVs.
RE: maint tent
BigMike,
You really need another hex to cover that thing right. You also need at least one diamond. Your leaving your flank exposed. I just put together my two hexes an one diamond for the coming show circuit. It really drops the temp under the net. I love them but hate...
RE: maint tent
Rizzo,
Where did you get and how much. I think General Jims wants something like $3000 but they did not have any. If any of the info is a trade secret then disregard.
If he is changing over to a 12 volt system why not just wire the relay out of the system. If it is all 12 volt now then it would not be needed. Anyone done this before?
