I hear ya... I sold 5 of mine in the past month, all 100% tested, serviced ready to go. Now I'm having trouble winning a single auction to buy a replacement gen for myself! By the time I buy it, pay the fees and get it to my house, I'll be into it for more than I sold the good ones on trailers...
I recently had a couple 802's that had 1/2" wire mesh, for like building animal cages, screwed over all the air vents and openings ( don't forget the ones on the bottom ) to help keep mice out. You also need to secure the boot where the AC wires enter. Even that will probably only help, but not...
To complicate matters even more... take a look at the pictures of the $3900 one in TX... I've never owned 400hz machine, thank God!, but it looks like the pic shows a 60hz frequency meter on the control panel.
Try checking the throttle linkage bar going to the side of the IP. I have an 003A that the military painted and the thick layer of paint has frozen up the sliding section of the linkage and it would bog at around 5KW ( 50% rated load ) after freeing up the linkage it will now pull 14KW all day...
I just got done fixing one of my MEP-803A's that was randomly pegging the fuel gauge all the way to the left.
It was pegged down when I bought it, so I swapped in a known good gage out of another 803' and it seemed fine.
I load tested the machine for about an hour, then shut it down. Next time I...
Sorry guys, I googled my genny fuel gage problem and didn't realize this wasn't in the Auxiliary equipment section.... :cookoo:
My bad... I'll go look in the right section now!
cybindustries, did you ever figure out what was wrong with your fuel gage that was pegging below E ?
I have 2 machines doing the same thing, an 803 and an 802. I know that the problem is being caused by the sensor wire's circuit going open at the gage, but haven't had time to test anything yet...
Hi Guyfang, I found a few numbers but a quick Google search didn't turn up any real specifications for me.
I have NSN 6130-01-346-4736 PN 13229E1176 Power supply made by Cecom Lr Center
Also found SP043000MGC62MODF0001 , if that means anything?
Can't believe I didn't try that... Sometimes I overlook the obvious I guess.. Found the TM, interesting stuff! It doesn't say much about that PS other than how to remove it, but I'll keep searching.
Thank you...
I've got another question that I'm wondering if Guyfang or anyone could help with.
While stripping out this water purification system, I removed a 120V A/C to 24 VDC ( actually 26.4V ) power supply that ran 2 small diesel fueled space heaters mounted to the wall inside the container.
It looks...
You're totally welcome... As for parts, my experience is that going direct to AMBAC is the best way. There is a woman in the parts dept. who is very helpful.
Rather than buying each individual part you need, they have some "kits" that include several parts ( such as the delivery valve spacer...
Hello LITD, if you need any info I have a bunch of the AMBAC files in pdf format, parts schematics, instructions and such for that model 50 pump. Like Guyfang said, its really not hard to remove and rebuild them. If your not pumping any fuel out of the IP and its gummed up, there's a good chance...
Hello everyone, I'm just finishing up a similar problem with fuel metering pumps and thought I'd share my findings.
Got this 803A from GP, they said it wouldn't start and made it sound like the reason was that the fuel hoses, filter housings and fuel solenoid were missing. When it arrived I...
Thank you. I sent a message to the WATEC Water I found in WA asking if they have any interest or information on anyone who might be interested in the unit or its components.
Thanks for the info Guyfang! looks like the NSN# is 4610-01-219-8707
I found a place called WATEC Water in WA, not sure if that is the same place, but I'll give them a try if I can't find anything here on the east coast.
Hello Everyone,
A friend and I recently picked up an Aqua Chem water purification unit from GP.
Basically it was bought for the 806B generator mounted on it, and for the storage container the water system is mounted in. I was wondering if anyone here would have any suggestions on places to...
Thought I'd share a little story ( with a happy ending for a change ) about my recent GL purchase of another MEP-003A.
I previously had a total of 6 MEP generators, got them all fixed up and tested and sold them all, so I was starting to have Green Machine withdrawl symptoms and needed to buy...
