Current status: Crate engine (engine is removed from vehicle, disassembled, and stored/transported to various locations in numerous crates).

I would have started it in the crate and let it warm up. If it ran seemingly well, stuff it in and done. Save the rebuild parts for when it is really worn out. Each their own.
