Donaldson Air Ram 4" Scoop H008154, US Source Found !

Bad Info Posted, Please Delete Incorrect info given. I greatly apologize to anybody that bought a part based upon my incorrect info. I SUCK !!! The intake pipe on M939's is about 5", not 4" as I thought I remembered. The 4" model is available for those who can use it. The 5" has to be...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

That's what I also suggested, but the flywheel is missing. All other parts he can easily pull from his truck and do a test fire (injection pump and lines). But by the time you pull the flywheel out of his truck, the engine is nearly out at that point anyway. Anybody have a flywheel they can...

    Starter warm-up?

They are, and we test them to a minimum of 50,000 cycles, which is the equivalent of 10 years of continuous usage as a daily driver class 8 vehicle. Best to use as primary, sell your OE one for $50, and go from there. I'll take one apart and post some pics, you'll be impressed with what goes...

    Alternator Output Results

I don't know the model number. I'll check it when I get home tonight and let you know. I doubt it is anything special, I think most people just don't measure the output like I did. I would guess most all of them perform this way, until they stop working, which is also common.

    M923: mudding or not?

If any of you know Wildchild467 over in the Deuce forum, he is a great guy to go off-roading with. After I was stuck above, he got out of his truck and payed out my winch cable to the tree, while I sat inside making engine noises with the heat on lo, eating a Honey Bun in my flip flops. Then...

    M923: mudding or not?

I knew there was a reason I liked this guy. I bought an M925A2 specifically to have self recovery ability (winch) and have some fun. I deliberately drove my 9 though deeper and deeper yuck until it was stuck. I did this so I know what it can and can't do now. Without that experience, I would...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Cause of excessive crankcase pressure was never discovered. I second your take, leave this one alone. Life is good for him in MI. He has a good paying job, nice house, and you should see what he is sleeping next to every night in his bed.

1991 M931A2 fuel issues wont start loses prime in Arizona

As all said above. Put new O rings and lube into fuel selector valve, pull and check your fuel tank dip tube (suction elbow and straw), replace all soft fuel suction lines (they won't leak to outside due to suction, they will suck air instead), and then once there is air in the line it still...

    Starter warm-up?

I sell brand new modern lightweight gear reduction starters for cheap including warranty. You'd never look back after having one. Tested to work down to -40, and O ring sealed throughout. Measure your voltage at the starter while somebody cranks it. Needs to stay at 20V or higher. If it...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

Install it as-is, crank it up, and see what you've got as a baseline to begin with. If it runs well, then close the hood and drive it. You can monkey with it later once it is in the truck and requires it. It is kinf of hard to safely work on a medium size engine or larger without the correct...

M939A2 Red Dot Compressor Mount Kit Group Buy

I now have all materials required to make this happen, and will start fabricating it this week. Places Sanden ear mount A/C compressor on the factory serpentine drive system, AND on the correct side of the engine (passenger). Will not require you to pull your fan and puncture a radiator tube...

    Alternator Output Results

You doing the R&D means you'd be designing the kit, not me. It is so far not really cost feasible to adapt the 130A 24V alternator I stock, for the LDT/S or Cummins 250 engine due to the V belt pulley requirement of those accessory drives. My alternator is equipped with an 8 rib serpentine...

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I don't think you should touch the replacement engine. Look how the last one (2) turned out. Plus, we'd be at 120 pages of Oh No's....

    Alternator Output Results

Good thing I like donuts. I'm guessing it is just the way the alternator is rated. The starter/alternator company I am employed at rates the same way, a guaranteed minimum under any and all circumstances. For example, the 130 amp 24v unit I sell as an upgrade for 5t a2's actually belts out...

    cummins 855 fuel button?

Correct. A smaller # fuel button on the 250 engine delivers more fuel, which increases power output, which increases EGT, which increases the risk of liquefying your pistons. Install and use an EGT gauge, and gains can be realized safely. Recommend the dual fuel line mod also if you have not...
