Transportation needed for 5 ton truck

Looks like the truck has been well cared for and fortunately you have the 11.00R20 tires which are less likely to cause issues compared to old super singles. Where is the truck located? One of us might be able to Uber you from the airport to the truck and assist with any maintenance.

    Labor of love

Looking good! Appreciate the accurate markings!

Transportation needed for 5 ton truck

United States of Freight is HIGHLY recommended, but if you go with bubba trucking, make sure they are using a RGN trailer. A drop deck won’t work.

M416 trailer: were there Magnesium wheels on the early ones??

Magnesium wheels came on early M151 Mutt 1/4 ton trucks. People that are restoring these vehicles desire these wheels as the Army started using steel wheels, and these got replaced. I personally don’t think 416s came with those wheels but I was not there in 1961.

    What is the value?

Minimum 15 grand. Dumps bring a premium as they usually end up at construction sites.

    M1165A1 high RPM at 55mph

2900 at 55 mph is roughly what you would see if the 4L80E is in 3rd (direct). Pull codes.

    Steel Pickup tubes

Oh yes, they are notorious for getting pinhole rust holes allowing a troublesome air-fuel mix to get to the engine.

    A/C Help needed

What pressure do you have in the system? If your refrigerant has leaked out, pressure switches will prevent the compressor from coming on.

Mack powered 1970 m39 HELP please!

Look through these TMs for the air brake diagram, will be in a -20 or -34: TM's for the M39 Series 5-ton | SteelSoldiers No clutch brake. Clutch probably needs free play adjustment.

    What have I got here? 52 - XM211 Wrecker?

The wrecker body is a transplant from a M108. Engine looks like a transplant from a mil generator set of some type. Looks like some other interesting trucks there too?

    Engine will not turn

Your 6.2 has burned up crankshaft bearings. Time for a GEP 6.5. Or an expensive rebuild of your engine.
  12. NDT

    No power at injection pump

Check the connectors coming out of the smart start box for corrosion either on the pins or where the wires are soldered into the pins.

M135/211 tanker (fire truck) with odd specs?

That is a GMC, the wheels are the M211 type. Lots of mods on that one, the entire bed/tank is shop made, the cab top is shop made, the fuel tank is shop made. With the original automatic transmission gone, you have no low range for crawling. Probably all 12 volt converted. GMCs do just fine...
  14. NDT

    Backfiring

Likely rust particles are getting sucked out of the tank and fouling your fresh rebuilt carb.

    New to me MV

    That is a CJ, probably a CJ-2A, probably 1947.

    Switch ID request.

    MS-24538 TRANSMITTER PRESSURE 24V 60 PSI

    M1028 Accessory Cables in Bed

Where do the hoses end up on the other end?

'86 M998 No Wait Light, Nothing

Now is the time to send your burnt box to CAMOTEKSYSTEMS.COM and never worry about it again.

    Sorry...Another M101a1 wheels/tire question

That system is called "Budd" and has been around since the 1930's and still used today, thread 3/4-16. Any HD truck supply house will have that lug nut in stock by the bucket full. A good source: Vintage Power Wagons - Vintage Dodge Truck Online Parts Catalog

'86 M998 No Wait Light, Nothing

I would suspect the smart start box. The relays inside probably burned up.
