RE: Tractors 5 ton plusssss
Jason,
You can change from unit to unit and MOS to MOS in the Army. Most of the movement I saw when I was in was from specialized units like trans units to combat arms units like Infantry or Artillery. It is harder to make rank in the MOSs with smaller...
The original question was talking about changing the oil. I would do check for hydrolock but I only crank until I see oil pressure after an oil and filter change. My oil pressure gage sticks on the deuce all the time so I have to do the standard fix for gages in the movies. I just tap it to get...
Most of the time a jumped cog or two would not cause valve problems even on an interference engine. Most of the problem with the interference engines was when a timing belt breaks and the valve train would stop while the pistons continued on. If it had enough timing jump to cause valve train...
Shouldn't you change your signature line to the following:
Tire w/o sidewall or air
or
1970 Hard Top M35A2 wo/winch…wo/title wo/spare tire wo/ enough tires to run duals in the rear.
The rear tire on my Ford 2000 tractor finally gave way. The cords broke along a line that was dry rotted and not it has a pimple about the size of my fist. When I saw it the bulge was near the bottom of the tire so I moved the tractor back a few feet until the bulge was as high as it could go...
I saw a half track on ebay that had a similar crane setup on it. The only reason I did not get it was I did not know how I would get teh thing home with such a big crane.
It is a check for Hydrolock. If the one of the cylinders fire with alot of fuel in it the motor will have major problems when the cylinder filled with fuel hits top dead center. With the stop lever pulled there should be no more fuel introduced and the engine should not fire. The engine will...
The carb is a two barrel that looks like a single from the top. If you look down in you will see two butterfly valves even though there is only one choke butterfly. You could add in a four barrel themoquad or such but economy will suffer.
Look at the ends and you may be able to see it there. Most of the time some battery acid gets in and starts the corrosion. By looking at the cable look for a bulge and this usually is corrosion inside the cable. Sometimes people clean the corrosion off the ends but it still seeps into the cable...
I wonder how much time it would take to strip off the read and while and carc it up. aua At least it is getting saved instead of scrapped. All kidding aside, the one you abover looks very nice.
They still had them when I went through Artillery School at Fort Sill back in the late 80's. I have never worked on them. Only on M198 towed 155 and M109 SP. Eight inch shells are huge.
I hate to be a manual thumping type, but if you check out the PM section of the manual (no PM magazine) it will tell you what is a deadline leak or a watch and see leak. Leaks are classified follows:
Class 1 Moist area visible (this sounds like what you guys are talking about with the head...
