It was rare to be used on M939 series, but was adapted to do so, is in the manuals, and a few trucks have been seen to have them. I have also seen one mounted under the dash of an M35A2 on the pass side. It requires a change of the hot air ducts to hi temp material (orange colored temp rated...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?147641-Cargo-Body-Heater-kit-2-5T-M35A2-Mil-Truck This is a complete kit to heat an M35A2 cargo bed, it installs in a front removable panel of the bed on that truck. You will only need the heater and control box if you are installing it on an...
Thanks for the confirmation and pic. Even todays over the road trucks, they say to grease them some on install, as it takes some time for gear lube to reach them once rolling.
ARB does not make a unit for 5T axles. An air unit was available in what was referred to as a 7 ton axle used in fire trucks, and supposedly they are similar or same as our 5T axles, but those are rare. 5T selectable hubs are expensive ($2000 per set), and not yet proven.
The 30k heater is listed in our classified for $200 new, complete kit. The correct brackets are much more flimsy than I expected. You could bend them by hand using band iron and have the same thing. I was not expecting so, but it is what it is. I wanted them to be original so it set the...
All points mentioned above are very strong candidates from having them happen. Another possibility is that your PCB is on its way out. Check and see if the lights on your CTIS module are lit up after you release the starter switch back to the run position. If not, then your PCB or an input to...
Have the fuel delivery hose(s) from the tank to the lift pump been replaced? They are know leakers, and since it is a suction line, it will suck air vs leak fluid out. Also, the OFV (Over Flow Valve) in the injection pump may need to be cleaned, it controls the amount of fuel pressure between...
I'm going through this right now on my 925A2 because I bought the back half of a 923A2 to make a matching trailer and I am gutting the axle housing drive contents to lower weight and rolling resistance. I believe because of the CTIS (A2 only), the rear axle hubs run gear lube for the outer hub...
I believe the ether system has 2 safties associated with its functionality. It has an engine temperature switch, to not allow it to spray above a needed temp, and also I think it should only spray during cranking. I don't think you should be able to spray it while idling (ignition in run). My...
I did not take this pic, so no credit to me. Mine is not installed yet. The brackets were almost un-obtanium. Had to buy them new via the NSN number. This is a 30k installed into an M939:
Mod/Admin, Why is my paragraph spacing not carrying over to published posts? It appears as desired when written in draft, then when posted, all jambed together as a single paragraph. Convenient toolbar to add pics and such also gone from draft page. Am I somehow doing something different, a...
I'd also like to know more about your HX50 acquisition. Is it a genuine Holset, or Chinese clone ($249 on eBay)? Is this the turbo that you installed and now have higher EGT's with? What did your intake boost pressure do from H1E to HX50? Also how is response (spool) time? I think your EGT...
I went down this path with my 925. Since a diesel takes such a long time to produce heat (especially if not under load), I wanted both, the conventional heater core, and a fuel fired heater. Then stage them. I bought the same 60k unit you have, and it is quite the item. Would have to mount...
A higher CCA battery is fabulous for marketing, but is not necessarily always the better choice. A battery with a higher CCA will have a shorter life (thinner plates to get more of them into the cell), and may have a lower total energy capacity, meaning it can't crank the starter as long. Yes...
Search bar in the upper right corner. Welcome, and in all fairness to everybody, take a few minutes to read the forum rules. They are short, sweet, and work. From there, we try to build a knowledge base here. For info you are seeking, search first to see if it has already been covered...
Doug, charge each of the 12v batteries with a regular plug in car type battery charger. If you do them one by one you won't have to disconnect anything. Allow at least several (6 or so) hours on each battery if using a small automatic charger. Even though the batteries are supposedly only 2...
