Wow. Those wheels are only rated for 4000lbs? That sucks. What are the regular old deuce wheels rated for. Only curious because I just finished rebuilding mine, and my new tires are rated at a little over 7000lbs.

I be happy with power similar/equal to a well-tuned LDT, maybe just a little bit more reliable.

Take a look at the Firestone T831's. I just mounted-up a set of 'em on Mah Deuce and they look the business, but I haven't driven it yet.

Of course you're right. I guess what I've got is a late-model A2 cab. The slave-cable hole in the cab is blocked-off, and there are no holes for the soft-top tiedowns, but no insulated floor (dangit) and no shoulder harness mounts. I'd like to see pictures of that other cab reinforcement that...

Yeah, I think mine is an A3 cab. I'll post some pics when I get it back from being sandblasted and painted. (it was galvanized, and the paint was flaking off it everywhere).

I just bought a brand new cab, NOS, still in the crate (er, what was left of the crate). Anyway, it's got that reinforcing plate in it. Lemme know if you guys need any measurements or pics before I install it.

Any of you guys that are interested in building stretched deuces; you should check out how people mount the bodies and boxes on expedition vehicles and some of the more off-road-oriented motorhomes. Expedition Portal is a good place to start.
