What is the weight on a towbar used to tow M35's and 5ton tractors? I'm looking at purchasing one off Ebay with extendable legs. UPS has a cutoff at 150lbs and I'm wondering what the TRUE weight is of the complete unit?
I guess worse case I could take off the hinged leg and ship it seperate...
I would like to purchase a set of slave cables for our M812, M818's and recent win of an M35a2c. I would like to purchase one that is 20ft in length or longer.
My questions are-
Does anyone have a slave cable for sale on this site? Anyone know of any dealers that have them for sale at...
batteries
The batteries in my truck look like regular 6TL's. We would like to purchase possibly a mid 90's civilan drop deck trailer at some point.
The guys who turned his pump to manual mode turned a small cylindrical knob on the top front side of the injection pump. The knob was...
Groundog- We ended up using a small ramp that the truck driver had as he hauls alot of machinery. We brought some larger oak timbers just incase we needed to make a ramp to get the front end of the truck on the top of the trailer. Next time we would just use a regular flatbed.
Bbbang- That...
thanks
Yes we ended up getting two of these units. Looking back I wish I bid on more of them. At first I thought they might have just been a Richie Brothers/aerosol overhaul but I was wrong!
BBBang- Were you the one with the brand new bright red Chevy Duramax picking up the trailer as I...
Hello,
The trucks are finally back on our turf in Minnesota. We ended up leaving after work on Thursday to drive to Indianapolis from Southern, MN. We drove through some interesting weather to say the least. It was 22 degrees outside through Iowa and Illinois and it was raining. Needless to...
2nd gear
On the 1970 M35 non turbo I had 7 years ago it did not like 2nd gear starts. If it's a good roll then 2nd gear is fine but obviously with 1st being non synchroed your can't downshift to 1st on a rolling start anyway. 2nd gear you would have to slip the clutch a little and even with...
thanks
Armada- I don't know why the PM didn't go though. Thats my second PM that hasn't gone through.
Coveralls- Thanks for the response and the offer on help. If we run into any problems I'll get a hold of you.
I'll make sure to post pics when we go to pick them up in the next two weeks...
Last night I received an email that I am finally paid in full for my M818 in Indiana. Luckily my dad who also bid on one also received the paid in full email on his yesterday also. We were planning on flat bedding them home but after reading about Armada's post on driving them home with no...
yikes
It looks like the International version of the Hummer H1 replacement. Just when you think the 6.5 diesel was poor choice for power and most importantly longevity in the H1 we go one worse and choose the 6.0 Powerstroke to replace it!!!!!! No thanks for me.
brakes
It won't pump up any. The pedal engages at the same spot each time. We just order the master cylinder and air pack from Sam Winer so hopefully one of these fixes the issue.
How's the 250 turbo project coming along?
Thanks David. Rattlehead- We bled each wheel and the master cylinder and air pack bleed screws and no bubbles. The brake pedal is firm once it goes to the firm spot and holds firm. I just don't like how the pedal goes 3" down before anything happens.
Andy
anybody?
I thought I would have some responses by now. I just want to make sure Sam Winer's parts have a good reputation around here. Any ideas on my brake problems would be appreciated also.
Thanks,
Andy
Just finished adjusting all of the brakes on the truck. M812 bridge truck. Some were gapped kind of heavy and one of the front wheels actually had the adjustment cam completely off the shoe tab. All is correctly adjusted and working. We thought this would fix our low pedal feel a little but...
thanks M1075!
Thanks for the responses. M1075 thanks for the pictures! That is exactly what I needed. I deal with a large waste hauler in Indianapolis and I'm going to ask them who they recommend for towing service in that area. If anybody is familiar with a good wrecker company in...
