Hello,
We would like to submit the SF-97 forms on the two M818 tractors we purchased from Stout Field. This is our first SF-97 experience and are looking forward to the long wait!

thanks M1075 for the pics! It looks to be fairly simple. We are being quoted $4,500 for the bed and we would have another $1,500 or so in shipping so I'm not really motivated to purchase one now. I'll have to crunch some numbers but I'm sure I could get one built for easily less than $6,000...
thats the one! Well I guess the quote I received from a guy who has one for sale wasn't out of line for price. I figure just the aluminum scrap value has to be worth quite a bit so they won't go too cheap. Is there anything special about this bed for the cable hookup, underneath structure...
We are looking to possibly purchase the flat bed attachment you can use to pull up on a Bridge truck. Does anyone know of any for sale and what do these typically bring for $?
Any leads would be appreicated.
thanks,
Andy
We found when putting on new belts on our M812 that the idler pully had bad bearings. You will notice a grease zerk on it but ours was obviously strictly ornamental for the previous maint. div. I can provide the bearing numbers if yours is bad.
Andy
Will the stock bridge truck wheels handle 1600's on the front also without rubbing? I just have always seen guys on here with M809's running Hemmet wheels all around. If I can use the stock front wheels with the provided spacer with 1600's that would save me about $400 in rims so I'd be for...
it's on
Alright I'll be getting some 1600's shortly and most likely some Hemmet front wheels for the front. Pics to follow in the next few months. The 250 Cummins will be hummin trying to pull all of these tires up to speed.
Andy
thanks
Thanks for the pics. How much wider are the 1600's from the 1400's? I guess I could install a small spacer between the wheels if needed. I want the dual spacing to look correct not like the USA 6x6 superduty.
I figure with 8 1600's on the back at approx 14,500lb capacity each you...
1400's
Finding a good deal on the 1400's seems hard especially in radial plus the tread selection in radials for the 1400's seem pretty lame. I like the look of the beefy Michilin 1600's lug pattern. We are going to single out one of our M818 tractors with the 1600's so I'd like a different...
We just heard we can obtain a yearly $150 overwidth permit for our M812. We were told before you had to apply for a permit each time you moved the truck which is why we were going to slim the truck down.
My questions are-
Can you put dual 1600x20's on a M812, the truck already has spacers...
thanks
Frank,
Thanks for the response. I was hoping to hear that. We have a long drive back to Ohio. I'll leave mine at his farm for a month or two and then drive it back to MN. We all are really looking forward to the drive.
Andy
Bruce,
I was right around where your stated on price. After sinking alot of time and cash into our M812 I don't mind spending a little more for one that looks clean. I thought I read something about the new M35's having fire rings and a tabbed head gasket? Could this be a leak point?
Worse...
prices
I didn't think I did too bad on my M35a2c for price. I noticed the next auction one of the trucks brought around 6k. Somebody really wanted that truck. But even at 6k it's still alot better than a 6k 4x4 diesel pickup truck thats been beat to death.
Do the M35's take GL-5 80/90 in...
I’m in the process of getting my parts in order for the pickup of my M35a2c in Camp LeJune. My uncle also purchased two of the M35a2c units from the same lot and we will all be driving them back to his home in central Ohio. I’ve went through the check lists that I could find for M35’s and had...
tough decision...
I had a 1970 M35a2 non turbo about 9 years ago and loved that truck. The exhaust note and excessive smoke to a diesel fan was about as good as it gets. My dad and I now own a M812 bridge truck and two M818's all with the NHC 250 Cummins. Another M818 is coming once the EUC...
looks very familiar!!!
Chris,
We just replaced the air shift valve assy with a new unit on our M812 a week ago. Good tip on replacing only the bolts that hold it to the tranny! Luckily we had the new unit to go by but either way it's not a treat to change. We could only hear the clunk noise...
