    DuraVee plus S-788 camper conversion

. I find it really strange that military trucks have one big check valve on the return side (M936 in particular) and nothing more. Most derricks or small cranes have a steel check valve on the steel cylinder for the lift in particular. Hiab makes their cranes that way and have since back in...

    DuraVee plus S-788 camper conversion

. Yeah, hey it sucks when a hose breaks - but on the bright side - at least nothing was up in the air and nobody got mashed! Time to replace that hose and any of the others that might look about the same age... There are all kinds of degreaser products that will remove the hydraulic oil. Red...

    1970 5-ton 6x6 needing wiring diagram.

. Not sure exactly what you really need - but TM 9-2320-260-24P-2 on PDF Page 132 (Figure 329) has pictures of wires and where some of them are supposed to connect. TM 9-2320-260-34P-1 mentions Front and Rear Wiring Harness on or about PDF Page 287. Both of those books are for the M809...

    G506 Class 525 (G7133) restore

. Wow! Nice find for sure. It is amazing how those shock absorbers still function all these many years ago... The Model A tools were a really cool find too! I have a 1929 and there is a lot of enjoyment to be had with one...

    Axil boot with zipper

. Yes and No. Depends on how patient you can be. The Technical Manuals explain how to do the job. Might want to start there. TM 9-2320-272-23-3 has a set of step by step "How To" directions on Page 0409-1 (PDF Page 585 in the version that I have)...

. Mogman - Very WELL said! Yep, none of us want to say Read The Book and nobody wants to hear it either - - BUT the more we hear all hear it, the more we might try it... AND eventually everybody benefits from it.

    71DeuceAK's M929A2

. The Hazards would normally be activated by pulling out the silver metal tab on an older SignalStat and the newer ones should activate by pulling straignt out out on the turn lever on the column. All relatively easy tugs, nothing should be forced. AND if neither of that works - maybe post a...

m1123 200amp generator hitting injector line

. Yes Sir... Needs to be updated as follows: RTFM, Page 38 in TM XX-XXXX-XXX-10  Remember, some of these fellas couldn't find their backside if they had a map and a compass and were standing beside a water tower. If the Evil Empire wants to win in a contest with this country, all they...

Deuce front bed mount bolts/springs, how tight?

. With some sort of "lock" to keep the nut from "backing off". I have seen two regular nuts "jammed" together to lock them in position and I have seen folks use NyLock nuts if the original all steel locking nuts have managed to disappear over the years...

    Replacement Batteries

. I have done the same on several trucks and they work well for 1/5th of the cost of a Hawker. Works especially well here in North Carolina when it might get cold for a week, then seventy the next week in December...

. Poke around and look in the "Classifieds" section to see what might be available for sale here. You might find what you want - or you might get an idea about pricing... Maybe you want to figure out why you want an A2 for example over an A1... The more you know, the more you can figure...

. Welcome to the Outfit! Don't hesitate to snag your copies of the Technical Manuals (TM's) so you have the information on oil and greasing your HMMWV. The "-10" TM has what you would think of as the "Owner's Manual" and even though it is REALLY BORING READING, it might be useful. The higher...

M809 Series- Rear and Intermediate axles and what to expect

. There is definitely no need to remove the bearing race unless you are replacing the bearings. Reading your list of consumables, I don't see any glaring issues. Seems like that should be everything you need.

. Welcome to the Outfit! Be sure to download the FREE TM's (Technical Manuals) for your new toy! They will be useful when you need to fix something. There are quite a number of Virginia based folks on here, so maybe you can link up with some of them and see what you might learn in person...

    Turbo Identification (whistler or not?)

. At least this way you won't be disappointed with it... Sometimes making a decision like this ends up helping you find another - possibly with less repair work on your part. OR, if not how it ends up at least you have something to compare it with!
